Thanks. I'd be lying if I said I wasn't a bit frustrated with regards to the time this map has spent here.

Probably this is not the best moment to post here, but I have to take a plane in few hours and I don't want to go without giving you a reply.
I'll be short: after some discussion with MrBenn, we agreed about the fact that even if the circular gameplay is part of the original game idea, it doesn't fit so well on CC Maps.
We're worried that this type of gameplay will make the map a bit boring...a sort of "crap" version of circus maximus.

So for now I move the map into the gameplay workshop, to see if some more adjustments to the gameplay can be done.
Sorry if I can't write something more detailed for now, but I'll do it when I come back, the next week.

Thanks for moving it out of the bin, but I believe your concerns gameplay-wise have already been addressed. The safe zones (blue spaces) assault each other and the Red2 spaces bombard nests, thus removing the crapshoot, circular aspect that you are concerned about. MarshalNey and Evil DIMwit were the two cartos that helped me out with the gameplay at the time. Did you consult them at all?

Yes I did.
I misread the map and I apologize for that. O:)
Let me move this one back to graphics.

How's business Vic? lol Lets put the current version on this page so all can see you're at, gets some comments in and lets finish this baby up. I always loved playing Parcheesi as a kid... :D

:wistfully remembers playing Parcheesi with his sibs and Grandma in his youth:

You know what I'm trying to do, just trying to get the discussions going! Speaking of which considering that SpikeWarden is the graphic artist and will ultimately hold the rights to the image, I'd like to hear from a little here too. Doesn't have to say much, just have to know he'll be around to be able to work on the image now and in the future.

Lol, Redbaron, I'm just yankin' yer chain. ;) I'm pretty sure Spike made all fixes you guys requested before it was moved to the bin. And I can bother him about posting more, but he's not very "forum savvy". Spike and I know each other in RL, plus we see each other all the time, so we usually just talk in person about the map.

While true, he at least has to make a post agreeing to the image agreement.

Haven't he and I done this by simply posting here and developing the map? I mean, it's not like I've ever said, "I agree to the copyright agreement", it's kind of a given since, well, I'm posting here and developing the map.

On another note, it's not like this map thread has been in the Graphics Workshop for 11 days... It was in here awhile before that, and people had plenty of time to speak up (I feel like a few did, but I can't remember and don't feel like checking :P ). Do all y'all graphics CAs have any specific issues? If not, I'm not sure why we're still here... Sorry, I don't mean to be disrespectful, but you must understand my patience has slowly waned through the obstacles I've faced and throughout the whole process. I almost have the XML completely done, actually. Just need to do the coordinates for the small version and I'm ready for a check ;)

:-k Okay then... It's strange because I've never seen anyone specifically agree to the copyright agreement...

Though I'm not sure I'll ever play this map, I like the aesthetics and look of it.

Is it really that difficult? It's a legal thing Sully, has to be done, plain and simple.

Yes and no. It's just another obstacle... I've been around here long enough to know I've been through more than I should have, but I'm willing to endure. It's just been one big, long test of my patience.

*cough*martyr*cough*

...no seriously, every mapmaker's perspective gets skewed when it's his own work in question. Things will go much smoother on your 2nd map, when you have more experience and know the process. Don't think of the foundry process as "obstacles" or "hoops", it's in place to help you push yourself to create the best possible map you are capable of creating.

And Redbaron is right, the copyright agreement is a legal thing that is necessary to do so CC can use your map. Lackattack would be an idiot if he didn't require some kind of license/agreement from the mapmaker, otherwise a mapmaker who gets pissed at the site could just quit the site and say "ok, take down all my maps"... we don't want that.

Besides, it really is not a big deal. When you get to final forge, MrBenn will send you the copyright agreement by pm, to which you'll just respond that you agree. It's not like some huge thing you have to do. It's one PM so quit being such a crybaby! ;)
