Welcome to the main foundry! Nice to see another stab at India.

After my first quick look my initial concern is the river... seems like if you worked the graphics right you wouldn't need to spell out how it's a border in some places and not a border in other places. It'll take some work, but getting the look just right would really pay off.

And, um, is that a two-territory +2?

OK, carry on InkL.

Version 12:

Thumbnail(it's slightly cut off at the side, but it isn't such a huge deal):

Changes:
-Changed distinction between rivers (added a stroke effect)
-Changed font. Does this look better?
-Fiddled with the army circles

I like the look of the map, though the text "Impassable Border/Not a border" seem rather cheesy as presented.

I read "Impassable Border" with this shadowed river thing. Then my mind goes to the next line of "not a border" and my mind reads it fast and thinks it's a punchline to some bad joke. Perhaps something simpler highlighting its "fluff" nature. My mind is blanking as to what that would be called, and FYI I consider anything not defining the gameplay of the map but making it look better "fluff".

I can't justify in my mind just having the river disappear for most of its course though... it would just seem weird. Plus, cairns seems to like that the Ganges is intact.

Version 13 (Feeling lucky?):

Large version:
Image

Small version
Image

It's been a while, but I've finally managed to post something different enough for an update. The major changes are the fact that I now have a small (and quite cramped) map, and that Eastern India has finally changed to +1. I've also had the idea that maybe the problem with the river can be solved if I just make the "not a border" parts extremely thin...

Points of Discussion:
-Colors in Legend
-River
-Probably other stuff

Hmm. It's just occurred to me that it was probably Northern India that needed the +1, not Eastern. I'd like some discussion on those bonuses please.

few things

switch the bonus' of north in and east in
the river still looks crappy......
can u make it clear of what territories can attack Sri Lanka? cause so far it cant attack anything and nothing can attack it
Plz modify west bengals borders, cause right now u cant tell it from bangladesh, so just modify the border there so it goes AROUND west bengals title

About Sri Lanka -- I'd like to think I can get away without any specification of it's borders. I don't want to ruin the look with lines of attack, since I don't have any of those right now. It seems to me that it's pretty obvious that it borders Tamil Nadul, no?

I can be a little more creative with the text of West Bengal itself, but I won't change the borders. They are accurate, and I want to avoid any and all fudging. The fact that the Ganges river's course is mostly made is bad enough.

The colour scheme is too bright. Tone it down.

The surrounding land would be better if it was a shade of grey.

i agree it is to bright, but i dont like the idea of a shade of grey for the surrounding area

maybe to make it darker, make a new layer on top of everything other than the text, and color it all black, then mess around with the opacity until it looks good
