ok, first: DONT SCRAP IT!!
this looks promising, well done,
-
i think the continents could do with beveling so they look better, there needs some back ground graphics - but i suggest some other countries in there, and within the countries maybe some faded pictures,
is the theme of this borat of just the country?
yes, you will need some immpassables - dont they have lots of mountains there?
the graphics are okish - they will do for now i think?? while there are suggestions,
the army circles need fading a lot more, i dont like them -and im not too keen on the light blue for them - although is that ment to represent the kasacstan flag? (the blue colour)

Nothing unique about this. I've seen plenty of boring maps come and go. There was not much thought that went into this map. It doesn't represent Kazakhstan in anyway to me.

The map needs a very serious graphical overhaul, but the basic premise is good enough. Some nicer colors, the use of gradients and bevels, a more interesting background, the addition of impassables, and redone army circles would all be big improvements to this version.

Did you save it as a .psd before saving it as whatever sort of file you uploaded it as (.jpg, .png, etc.)?
If not, you have to start from scratch. If so, open the .psd file and all your layers should be there.

if you have to start again it wouldnt be a big deal...
it would probably take around 10mins - ish?
-
when i 1st starting PS i found it weird using layers - but it makes it a lot easier to edit the picture,

Kazakhstan has some mountains and big lakes in it, right?
At least thats what it looks like from a map of it on Wikipedia....
Perhaps you could add in a few of those lakes and mountains to add some impassables to the map.
That, and the pinkish tan continent sitting right in the middle seems to be near-impossible to hold, without some huge amount of luck involved. Every territory within it, except for the one in the very middle, borders somewhere outside that continent, which means the entire place is basically one big border you have to defend. Is there:
A. a way to add a few impassables to make it easier to hold. (Lake Balkash would help a lot, making tan and bright red both a bit easier to hold.)
B. split it in half or something to make it not as difficult to control.
from what I see, the yellow, pink/tan, and bright red continents would be nearly impossible to hold, just because of how many borders each of them has.
Also, watch out for 4-way borders (where four corners come together in the same place).
like the TKS/Zhanga/Shym/Taras border. those can get a bit confusing. Unless that is exactly how it is with the political boundaries, I think you should try to make them not-4-way borders (just shift them a bit so one of the diagonals can touch and there aren't 4 corners in the same place any more)

Nice start, but try not to over lap any of the letters with the images, also thickin the borders and maybe take some territorys out.
Don't worry about putting in the army circles yet untill you have the names and borders right.
Find better colors, those are too bight.
Other then that its a good start and hope you can make it

Good luck,
U2

Yes, Kazakhstan exists, it just stays comfortably out of any news of importance, at least from the perspective of the Western Hemisphere.
[/threadjack]
The map has potential, but the current graphics level looks on par with Microsoft Paint + 30 minutes. Color contrasts are really bad, the colors themselves are painfully bright, and the army circles look like they should be violating some map feng shui. Heck, as the colors stand right now you shouldn't need circles at all. Tone down the colors, clean up the borders, ditch the circles.
Gameplay, find some impassables...now...

lmao off topic!! hahah
[/threadjack]
if you put mountains around the "pinkish tan" cont and maybe some lakes as said by wca, it could work. that or you split the cont up/add gameplay features such as one-way attacks-that would be a little bit like an immpassable if you were holding the cont.

uh.... No comprendo?
1) Cant hardly read the legend
2) Get rid of the 'Welcome to Kazakhstan
3) The flag is crappy, improve it or remove it
4) make the legend blend into the background at the corners
5) the lterritory lines are to strait, make them more curvy
7) Include the surrounding area, but not as territories and such
8.) lose the circles
