Supermax!

Postby macbone on Tue Jun 15, 2010 12:29 pm

OK, so anyone else think that Supermax should be the next map that the Society starts teaching? We don't want to get into the really tough maps just yet, and Supermax should provide a nice, easy transition.

Seriously, anyone have any tips at all for playing this monster map? I blindly accepted an invite to play four-team doubs on this map, and when my partner said I was taking point, I thought, Shoot me now!

Setting are Doubles, Manual, 8-man, Sequential, Escalating, Unlimited, Sunny.

mac, you might try checking the Strategy forum. You can find a lot of discussions on other maps. If you post a question in there many cc'ers who don't participate in SOC will see it and possibly respond.

It seems like in an escalating game, the map doesn't matter as much.

The courtyard is the perfect place for the SoC strategy because your stacks can attack anywhere. There are so many police (neutrals) in the cell blocks, it will take some time before people can take them out. Any position where your teammate is also your cellmate should be safe for a for a few turns. If you stack one cell in each block, you'll be able to move out after the others have weakened themselves attacking guards.

I just started a no spoils game on that map, so I've been just looking at it for a few hours. It's really interesting...but the bonuses are complicated, and entirely not worth it with escalating spoils. Gang leaders are key, because gang's are the first available income. Weapons are also a small bonus. I'm working on a plan to move towards the warden, but I'll let you know how that turns out.

After reading you guys' comments and searching for strategy, I think I need more practice on Supermax. Thanks, guys.

Control as many new fish as possible, take the yard, then Gen Pop. Then take the cell blocks at your leisure!

Made even easier if your opponents don't get any good dice.

The major problem with that map is that the game is over many rounds before you actually win / lose.
