I am not sure who made the 1st 2 railroad maps but i know of many players that stay clear from them, again too complicated or thinking required on them 1st 2 made, especially the 2nd one, these maps always tned to favor bob and monkey and so many in the beginning do not have these

As I stated in Forbidden City, don't expect me to stop making them just because players don't like things complicated, or a little challenging. ;) This one is far less challenging than Rail Europe.

Thanks Blitzaholic. I am sure you find this less torture than Rail Europe.
I am by nature a creative being. I like the challenge of making things simple sometimes, but at other times there needs to be a twist for me.
LIfe would be very boring if we have everything the same, people would play then get sick of playing the same thing after a while, and the site would be the worse for membership.
At least with a few challenges, some of the less classic maps in here are there for those who wish to be challenged so that they look for to coming back again.
Apart from that, there are a couple of my maps that are very simple indeed. Look at the latest Egpyt:Lower. it is classic play all over, very small number of territories and after a day and half, 435 games have been started on it.
So i can't be accused of providing the site with difficult maps all the time.

Hey, I like the Rail maps. I just don't play on them as much as I probably could.

this is looking great. when will it be released to play? as for difficulty of play, rail USA was great, and Europe was pretty cool. I really like this line of maps. Keep up the good work!!

would it make more sense if the minerals - ports that are connected were the same color, rather than making all of the minerals one color, etc?

better.

Maybe I'm tired, but looking at this right now I'm not getting what's going on with the ADL hub, which is strange because it hasn't bothered me before now... could you plunk some army counts on there more or less where you think they'll go?

alright cairnswk, my only remaining beef on this map is with the ADL hub station. Visually I don't think it fits with the rest of the map, and in terms of gameplay it doesn't seem to work as well as Paris or Chicago on your previous rail maps. For me the problem may be that you aren't being consistent with your bonus system; on this map, you aren't using purely rail lines, but a combination of long distance lines and regional clusters, and in every place other than the ADL station a territory can actually be both. Having both regional bonuses and line bonuses works, because you've made the key codes very clear at the stations (for example, PGA is a part of two lines and a rail region), but I think the system breaks down at ADL.

I think the map would be easier to follow if ADL was just a single territory like everything else, but with a fourth letter piled up there somehow.

Alright, it's your funeral. ;)

A change to the way the station is laid out would, in my opinion, make the play more clear, but as it wouldn't actually impact the way the map plays I guess I'm ready to stamp this puppy.

Let's hope that stamping this isn't your funeral. I'm sure it won't be! ;)
If they don't understand it, they'll easily learn if they want to play it, and it does create consistency with the other rail maps but just in a different style, even though there is only four (platforms) in there. :)

The black and burgundy "sunbursts" seem to have no causality. Most of them show up near a port, but a few do not, and they don't seem to have any map "reason" to them. Any chance of reducing their number to exclusively the ones near ports to prevent confusion?

Those "sunbursts" as you call them are aboriginal representations of "meeting places" - this is how aboriginals drawn them. As such they are part of the overall design of this map with a part aboriginal theme. So the answer is a flat no. :) And i can't understand your reasoning "to prevent confusion" - they will not have armies on them anyway.
