Thanks fumandemuert...the stations have been downsized for the next version 4 to 18 pixels high for the army placement box :)

TOS toshkent ought to be TAS tashkent, which is in uzbekistan and is therefore a logical jumping-off place for mashhad.

ian. :)

Ian, i've added OSA for you.
Map size for small is down to 630 px again, although it was only 2 above that, i didn't see that as a major issue.
Google lists ToshKent, while variious other sources have combinations of other names.
To that, however, you must be looking at the original version rather than the latesst V3 above this, as Toshkent has been been removed from the list.
I will endeavour to update the list of stations in post one later on...

Could you put them in a spoiler tag?

Here's another map of the Asian Rail network... It appears to be colour-coded by rail gauge as opposed to anything else....

Yes, that is so and is the map i used as starting point...
As pointed out....would you only want 5 continents on such as large map?

Version 4.

Changes:
1. OSA added to Japan lines
2. Station deisgn remodelled, more to come as it is tidied and enahnced; it is based on the Railway Museum in Beijing.
3. No-one responded to long-distance trains, so they're gone
4. Station list front page updated.

Version 4.

I've added an Indian station to Karachi as there needs to be a direct link between Karachi and New Delhi.

Also written the xml for where this is at.

Boat link out to Rail Marianas Islands?

No just kidding.

BTK is a tad too close to SIN, it insinuates a connection and I think it might be best if relocated some to the right. The letters labeling the rail lines are tough on the eyes at that font style in that size.

I wonder if having the two main stations so close to each other is a good idea. Hong Kong might be a better option if you're willing to relocate the Japan link and i think it would balance the map out much better. Though you'll have to move the Philippines east a little bit.

Yes, i'll move that out some.

I guess you're talking about the letters in the legend, if so i'll fix.

To make this map slightly different again from the other rail maps, i was wondering about having that third terminus.
Hong Kong makes for one option as you mentioned, and i'm still thinking on ways to achieve that...it's just that China occupies such a large space geographically.

In the other rail maps there are some cities that belong to 2 rail lines, but there is only one actuall station, but here all the cities with multiple lines going through have multiple stations.
Also, the shadow sort of thing on all the land, look really odd on most of the islands in south pasific, it looks too large. Perhaps shorten it, cause so they don't stick up so much.

I think you should get rid of Indonesia and the Phillipines. Theyre rail systems arent connected to the rest of the continent, and most of them aren't even connected together mostly (not like Japan with their rail tunnels). The rail systems in these nations aren't valued for their quality anyway.

Yes...that's true...do you any suggestions as at where these might be good.

Thanks for your comments gho... :)
I agree those two countries' rail systems aren't like Japan's, but i think the rail systems in those countries aren't as important because overall the countries are much poorer.
That doesn't mean of course that we can't represent them here, and in fact i'd like to keep them because they help balance the map somewhat and allow for extra small regions that players can target to help get them started.

there is a Russian(a) rail line in between NVK and AST, but no A station station in AST. Why not add AST to the A line and have that station as a A and B station?
Also, there are some other cities where merging 2 stations into one would be good.
Cairo- it would make the Arabian and Ottoman lines flow together, and increase the importance of Cairo since it would be necessary for holding 2 bonuses.
ULB- it is the end of one line and the beginning of another, it would be unlikely that they would have 2 different stations in that city which would make it hard for people to go right through. IT would make it flow better and make it easier for players to move from east to west in the northern part of the map.

ULB
...what about RGP and KUN also to balance the map, you know two each side?

Version 5.
1. Implemented single stations at CAI, AST, ULB, KUN
2. Added the New Delhi to Karachi line

Just a nit-pick cairns, the Philippino line in the legend needs to be changed to 'M' from 'L'. What do those two bonuses in the lower right go to. Are they the transcontinental lines you had but removed?

Good work! cheers!

Isaiah40. i'm sorry, but this may be pulled out later from the Vacation Bin.
But it seems there is not enough support yet.....perhaps there will be more support after the Rail Africa map has run it's time.
I have not given up on this yet. :)
