I have two suggestions that I just though of.

1.I suggest changing the name of Wayrest to High Rock.

2.I suggest changing the embassy in Elsweyr to Valenwood.

Ok people. I finished my physics exam today, and may have sacrificed an A in that class for this map. But coming up friday is my math final. I think i'm going to have to take a bit of a break in order to learn me some surface integrals....cause honestly, this stuff is about the hardest thing i've ever had to do in school. If i keep posting a lot, yell at me! But keep posting stuff, cause its nice to take a littel study break and see what you guys have to say about the map. (Who am i kidding, i'm addicted)

ok sounds good, good luck with your final and all.

Few more suggestions about the embassys

Since most of them are inside the country instead of on a border so maybe the others could be moved.

Such as the one in Cyrodiil to Cyrodiil and the one in Skyrim to either Hrothgar, Falcreath, or Dawnstar.

Well thats all I have, I can't wait until this map comes out.

Well lets see...

~~Visual Appeal~~

---I like how things are coming along. The oceans look much better now, I like the gradient as it is, and the same goes for the rivers. The compass in the bottom corner does look better than the previous reverse coin, but also could be taken out with you think it clutters it too much. I'm indifferent really either way. I personally like how the large coin is and where it is placed. I like the radiating circles. It looks so real that I could touch it and hold it in my palm.

---As for Elsweyr's countries being to hard to read, I think they are alright. I am not sure there is much you can do. Making the names lighter is almost worse because of the bright on bright. I think the dark on the bright works better than the previous version. Black Marsh's still could be darkened a little, similar to Cyrodiil. It also looks like 'Sancre Tor' is a shade of red different than the countries in the same continent.

=================================

~~~Nitty Gritty~~~
---As for the embassies it's an interesting idea that could help set our map out apart from other ones. I particularly like that it is not needed to go for them, but simply and option that is there. As suggested earlier, either move all the embassies toward the inner of the continent or to a border, to help keep a uniform feel.
Looking close at how the embassies are placed, perhaps better locations could be...
>>>>Hammerfell's-- in Elsweyr
>>>>Skyrim's-- in Black Marsh
>>>>Morrowind's-- in Hammerfell
>>>>Cyrodiil's-- in Summerset Isle
>>>>Summerset Isles'-- in Cyrodiil
>>>>Elsweyr's-- in Morrowind
>>>>Black Marsh's-- in Skyrim
That would keep players from having to trek so far, but far enough. Also it would help move Cyrodiil's even farther away since in relation to the other embassies it was rather close.
=============================
~~Quick Fixes~~
---Perhaps make the border between Soulrest and Lilmoth clearer...Lilmoth can't attack Murkwood can it?
---Maybe even make the border between Sancre Tor and Fang Lair more precise.
---In Morrowind perhaps a bridge from Velothi Mts. to Vvardenfell, otherwise you nearly have to go in a one way circle to take over the area.
One thing i'm trying to do with the placement of the embassies is to remove the possibilty of holding some continents, and owning all of your embassies. For example, with your suggestion if you hold hammerfell, elsweyr, and morrowind, you are completely self contained. no reason for someone to try and take the embassy you hold, and no reason to after another embassy. And you'd be pumping out an ungodly number of troops. Just another thing to consider.
I would put the embassy in the continent cyrodiil into the country cyrodiil, but its just too small.
It seems though holding Hammerfell, Elsweyr, and Morrowind would be rather difficult. I can see sort of why you placed them where you did (at least in the respective continents), I just wanted to give you other options to look into.
Edit: Psst, I like the gradients as they are, just to show my stance in that again. (hehe, done as requested ;))
you guys are conspiring against me. I like the gradient in the oceans in the poll...but i'm not a big fan on gradients in the ocean just in general. Real oceans dont have gradients...
I think it looks much better, though I still like the gradients whether they're realistic or not. Brightens it up. Lol :wink:
These aren't the modern times with night vision and whatnot. We can't see at night. Bad idea.
Guys, this is going to be an awesome map and sorry for not saying anything earlier, but maybe if the mountains are on a different layer you can tweak that layer's colour levels a little so that the mountains look less like poo.
Well lets see...
---It looks playable, though I would've liked some sort of shadow for the flag...just something that would help enhance a well created map.
Edit: I meant under the flag, some sort of shadow showing the time of day. ;)
I'll have to give it a playtest when it is up!
There is a shadow... Maybe I'm seeing things but I see a small fuzzy little shadow behind the flags.
now that i think about it, i may have meant to put some more thought into the locale of those flags. Who knows, we'll see how they play in the games.
