Yeah i agree, adding a queen would add another style of flavor to the map, but it is great just how it is and really does point focus onto the "King" and his power to hit all castles. I keep checking this map out, would really like to try it out already.

Actually I had a Queen initially, Helix :)

I gave up on her along the way - mainly because I wanted to be very objective concerning the King's court, making very clear that the King would be the main protagonist.

I've been playing around with a pyramid version Helix.... but not quite sure about it :-s . I think I'd still go for the initial lay out. What do you think?

I like the latest version for the court. It makes it visually clear who's on top and the various levels of power. I say keep it.

I want to play this thing already... when are you gonna brief it?

I'm not particularly fond of the little vein things (roads?) connecting villages etc. Are they necessary? If so, is there another way they could be done?

I've made a version of the small map with a more readable (but less appealing) font , in case you guys find the small map hard to read

Regarding the small map, where will the numbers go on the territories with catapults and knights? Cause it looks a bit tight.

And I just noticed the roads... are those just for decoration or did I miss something in the legend.

How are you going to name the currently empty hexes?

I thought the left side was indicative of how the rest of the map would be named.

Ah, that's right... I was looking at the small map, lol.

Still... isn't there a better way to name them than simply n1-n**..?

what about the 2 versions of the small map I've posted, should we keep the font equal to the large map or replace it for that second version?.....

about the army numbers, I've posted previously an example:

...and no Helix, the roads are just a graphical thing....

Well, perhaps dividing the map in several sectors. You could just divide the map in four "squares" - northwest, northeast, southwest, southeast. Then you could name the territories NW1, NE4, SW9, SE5 and so on... this is just an idea, and there are probably even better ways, but even this would be better than naming them all N1...Nxx, IMHO.

Also I assume the territories around the castles will be named by the castle letter and the number? I think it would be easier to players if you have the whole territory name written in the territory. Like, around castle C you would put C1, C2, C3...

I'd still prefer the N# version for all - for they are all equal in essence, and it's definitely simpler. Introducing different letters would be adding confusion in my opinion.

As for the Castle clusters, it would be like in 'feudal war'. All 6 or 5 regions will be coded with the castle letter (A1, A2, A3..) but only the numbers will appear in the map (just like in feudal war).

Ah yeah, i see th numbers now... how about a basic test on the small map? Nothing too thorough though.

ok, do you want me to plant a bit of 888 more around the small map?

btw, should we keep the initial font in the small map? or the second......

I have a small suggestion. I think you should change the abreviation for auto-deploy. 1 army a-d makes me think +1 army for the unit in castle's a through d. I figured it out once I looked through the whole map and saw your abbreviations key but I think it would be more easily understood initially for players if it said auto instead, or a.d., or even auto-d if that fits.

I don't think that we're going to have any problem when placing those 888.

OK, it looks like the court is the biggest problem. What if the numbers alternate top to bottom?

But there needs to be some sort of resolution for this.

a.d. would be better than a-d and it should fit in all places.

Btw I like the 2nd font for the small version.

Yeah I thought it might be tight. What you can do is remove the word "army". It's redundant in most cases. I think you should keep the word army in the castle+knight column where it says, "1 army, 1 extra army for each 2 additional knights". But in the other places if you put +1 auto, or +1 auto-d that will fit in every spot and will be understood easier.
