I decided to make a map and focused on a playability idea that I liked, this is the result.

I like it. I think it's pretty much ready, and I'd play it right now if I could.

haven't wrapped my brain around the game play yet, but I can tell you from experience that primary colors and black backgrounds don't go over too well. Also, the font is kinda sad looking.

Yeah, I still view this as a sketch, it wouldn't take me very long to change the background if I need to, or the fonts. I was also thinking about changing the borders so the connections were more clear and maybe making them a bit more straight edge instead of curvy/jagged.

The game play has sort of the flag Idea that I like from Tam, and the shared territories for continent bonus that I like from Space, it also has the important center that connects everything similar to CCU.

wow I really really like this map, but there is just something about the middle that turns me off a little... I just can't put my finger on it.

I LIKE IT.

Several Questions:

1)Do you need to own the center to own a color wedge?

2)Your allied Centers of power. DO you mean if you own Idea,Rage and Loss you get +3?

3) Does the center get a bonus?

4) I assume two bordering "thoughts" could no tbe held by 2 people since they share 1 territory?

Needs graphic work but gameplay would be great.

Colors need work (especialy in the Bonus Key area)

again. I LIKE IT!!!

What if the border lines for each thought reflected the thought itself. Like for knowledge, you would have straight, even lines, but for war, it would be very chaotic. Just a thought (no pun intended).

Sweet!

No. It is like the center in CCU, you don't need to have it, but it really opens up the map and is strategically important.

WidowMakers wrote:2)Your allied Centers of power. DO you mean if you own Idea,Rage and Loss you get +3?

I really need to make that more clear somehow. You gain +3 if you own the three territories with the Bigger Army Circle that are usually the hardest to reach in each continent. So via your idea you would need Death, War, and Inspiration.

WidowMakers wrote:4) I assume two bordering "thoughts" could not be held by 2 people since they share 1 territory?

Yeah, it is like Space in that you need to own the borders to get your continent, and at the same time you are denying your neighbor theirs.

I agree. To go one step further. Have a background image for each thought.

Death======Skull or Skeleton
Law=======Justice is blind http://nces.ed.gov/programs/quarterly/v ... 2fig16.gif
Compassion==?
War======Fire explosions
Knowledge===Books/Scrolls
Inspiration===Lighbulb
Wealth=====Money$$$
Harmony====Nature/Anmials

Then you could associate an icon with each thought. It would make the key easier to read. Especially in regards to the 3 circles of allied power.

Then put htose icons in the far territories. It would then be easy to understand how the allied circle of power works. (That sounds so cool)

you two should work something out together. Widowmakers is definitely kick ass at bringing maps to life grapgically and is excited about the idea. Any chance at seeing the both of you work together on this one???

Interesting.....

Have you already considered the implications for team play? Obviously this means you cannot go for a region that directly borders one your partner has or is going for. I'm not saying that's bad, but what are your thoughts on this?

Update

Image

Changes
Cleaner Borders
Made the Legend a little smaller vertically and fixed some spacing in it.

That is a lot nicer, and a lot cleaner.

I would think what I would do on this map in a 3v3 situation is get one player a section and then be borders for the person we gave the section and instruct him/her to deploy for us.

to make the centres of power stand out more, you could lose the coloured circles on the rest of the territories, then they'll be more clearly the ones you need to hold for the +3

There is a possible chance on this end. I think Widowmakers is still busy with his own map. Otherwise I wouldn't be against handing it to him and saying make it look good, lol.
