Sorry if this has already been mentioned, don't have any time to read through the last several pages of discussions, but... Augusta, GA (number 38) has it's numbers around 10-20px too far over to the left. If anyone needs any clarification, please PM, since chances are good I will forget to check back in on the thread.

Thanks for a great map Isaiah, I'm playing my first game on it (terminator trench flat rate) and it's been going very nicely so far :)

The plus 1 for every 2 capitals doesn't seem to work right.
In the game I play (Game 12807922), I currently have 4 capitals, but only get a bonus of 1, shouldn't that be 2? I didn't check everybody else, but at least red and grey have 4 or more capitals and get only +1 as well.

I only see that you have 3 (Lansing, Madison, Santa Fe). Am I missing 1?

Augusta

Looks right to me though, 9 for territs + 2 for capitals + 1 Maine + 3 New Mexico = 15.

It's adding up correct, but the game log and bob aren't showing the extra state capitals.

Game log didn't show the extra capital bonus because I only took it last turn, so that's correct.
BOB on the other hand is a different story, that's just wrong. But I guess that's a bug in bob, not in this map.

Loving the map....thanks again! one thing that might help is to clarify Calgary by stating "resets to N1...." as opposed to just saying "resets to 1..."

The map is awesome and is really HUGE. But please you need to relocate Augusta (Georgia) number in the small map. There are 3 troops floating out of the circle.

Check it here: Game 12893729

Is this a deliberate move to make the map more challenging, or is it just the way it is? If it's not deliberate it seems like a fairly significant flaw. If it is deliberate... well, it'll be fun seeing my opponents make weird moves.

I believe the intent was to make it as geographically accurate as possible (I think Isaiah said at some point that Buffalo, WY is the only major city to cross both I90 and I25 or something like that)

Maybe to distinguish between the two they can be named this way:
Buffalo
and
BUFFALO

One in all caps to indicate the other position - it's an easy fix that could help?

The issue with this could be that it would mess up the dropdown menu. BUFFALO would come after Bzzzzzzzzzz.

Yes I placed Buffalo WY on the map because it is the junction of I25 & I90, the same reason I removed Cincinnati Oh from the original USA map pack and added in Dayton Oh. In game chat just make sure you mention what state as iancanton suggested.

Well they are distinguished in the drop down as Buffalo NY and Buffalo WY, so it does help. Also you have the mini-maps to help with were the states are located.

then I do not see a problem - players just need to slow down a bit when they see Buffalo and read the whole name to see if it's in NY or WY - So I'm fine with it...

Love the gameplay of this map. some of the bonuses feel unbalanced though. KY is overpowered at +4, it's easy to get. Feels like it should be a +2 maybe +3. For example NE is +2 bonus and more difficult than KY. Possibly NE could be a +3 bonus. MI at only +3 is a lot of work for a relatively small bonus. There are others that are possibly underpowered, for example NM, FL, AK.

Played this map a lot lately with it now in beta. And I must admit that the map is pretty clogged up, you could do with making the boundaries more prominent in each state and making the ovals into circles to reduce the amount wasted because that map is huge I think personally.

Glad you love the map!!

KY really isn't overpowered when you consider that you have to defend it from all 4 regions against 6 regions. NE you only have to defend 3 regions against 3 regions, MI is the same way. So if you look at it in that light you will see that really they have the right bonus.

You are the first person since I redid the state lines awhile ago. For right now, I am reluctant to redo them unless I see more players mentioning the same thing. As for the ovals, I had the circles at one time, but because of the 888's always going outside the circles and running unto the interstates, some of the numbers disappeared. So the ovals pretty much fixed the problem.

First off, in case I didn't say it before: This is a great map, thanks a lot for making it.

isaiah40 wrote:You are the first person since I redid the state lines awhile ago. For right now, I am reluctant to redo them unless I see more players mentioning the same thing.

I think the borders are fine the way they are. They are clearly visible but not too strong, so the emphasize is still on the connections and not on the borders.
Speaking of connections: I know you're trying to go for geographic accuracy, but do you think you could move Sioux Falls SD slightly away from Sioux City, so it doesn't look like they're connected?
And I found a "real" bug (as opposed to the other stuff which is just a matter of taste I guess): The Rockies capitals bonus includes Omaha instead of Lincoln for Nebraska.

Complicated

I think it's clear....

To the right side is the list of names of the cities which are numbered on the map - because there was not enough room on the map itself to write these cities names...

To the bottom left is the basic legend for the special connections and bonuses...

I think where he might be getting lost is the info at the top of the map...
For example - you list all the western section of that map and indicate that if controlled the player will receive +7 units.
Also with in this section (for example) you have inside of California a +9 (which I believe to mean that their is 9 areas "cities" with in California which is needed to control all of California. ((Though since you have it as a +9, just as you have the all western area controlled as a +7... It might make him think that he gains 9 troops for controlling california, but only 7 if he controls all of the western coast.))

Well the mini-maps on top indicate "Hold all Western (or whatever bonus region) Capitals for +7" It means if you hold all the capitals in the western region you receive 7 men. If you hold all of California you receive 9 men. If you hold all of California and all western capitals then you will receive 16 men. It is really self explanitory.
