Apologies if this has been covered earlier! But in Game 11630302 I am unable to launch any attack from A2. Even with nuff troops there A2 never comes up in "assault from" drop down. Is this a glitch or I am doing something wrong.?

Where were you attempting to attack to? The game is fogged so you're the only person who can see anything.

A2 can attack these territs.
ASL4
DH5
AFH1
A1

It also has a lot of territs it can bombard so the drop down box should of been very full.

sorry should have specified that earlier!

Those are bombardments only, not attack routes. You can turn all troops into neutrals but not advance any troops over. All the planes and cannons bombard over no mans land.

Even if its supposed to bombard shouldn't the dropdown give me an option for A2? If you look at the screengrab the dropdown is only populated with Fox2

Your playing trench so if you took A2 on that turn, you would not be able to attack from it till the next round.

well, i know that bazillion of hours were already played on this map, while i am just in the middle of my first game on this map
but i have to "complain" about a thing

i really don't like the fact, that A1 <-> L1 and A2 <-> L2 (where " -> " stands for "can bombard")
i think it would be much more fun, if those planes could bombard eachother crisscross: A1 -> L2, L2 -> A2, A2 -> L1, L1 -> A1

Hi Huegelkoenig, thx for your 25 cents, well you are the only one who have that opinion, and I dont agree with you, if the plaines only could hit each other, the excitement for capture them would not be that greate, becourse it dont give any impact on the game, as it is now it can make a turning point, the plaines have a significant role in the game.

even though i have to admit, when i first played this map, i thought planes would be bombard only, which led to a major mistake in my gameplan :lol:
i realize that, if you would turn those planes into "bombard only"-planes, the whole gameplay of this map would change.
thats not what i intended

what i "complained" about was:
at the moment we have:
A1 can bombard L1, L1 can bombard A1
A2 can bombard L2, L2 can bombard A2

why not mix it up:
A1 can bombard L2, L2 can bombard A2
A2 can bombard L1, L1 can bombard A1
(simply turn the green bomb at L2 into white, and the white bomb at L1 into green and adjust the xml)
(thats what i called "criss-cross-bombing")

effectively this would mean:
while in a game with trench off this would only lead to minor changes not really affecting the gameplay we have now (except for ongoing games, but its still beta).
but in a game with trench on, after using up your troops while bombarding another plane, you can't be sure if you will still hold "your" plane next turn.
get what i mean?

Well it would only course minor changes, I even think that no one would ever notis, nor in trench games, I do get what you mean, but it dosent realy matter which plane hits which plane, they are right next to each other and both can be atacked from all sides of the airfields...

So changing the map and XML for only this, Im sorry, this should have been implanted in the map early stage, but thx for your input and I hope you will spend some more time in the fondry giving mapmakers good constructive critique.

As a matter of interest, if 1 player holds 1 side of the map, and another player the other so that they are separated by no mans land and the game play is trench, how exactly does a player win and get to the other side ?

killer neutrals do not affect trench. You can attack another time after the killers.

Reverting back to neutral doesn't affect trench ?

In Trench, if you attack a killer neutral, you can continue to attack until you attack a normal territory and take it over. See here.

This game will never end in trench mode, which I happened to make by mistake, troops can never make it across no-mans land they always will get naturalized.
So game can never end.

In Trench, if you attack a killer neutral, you can continue to attack until you attack a normal territory and take it over. See here.

What is the reason that you have the german planes connect to both artillery positions but the planes in the south do not?

I think it may give a slight advantage to the north position?

Players do not start on one side only, so its not a problem.
