Any chance we could get this up within a week for to commemorate Mexico's bicentennial?

Back, for one night only---a reunion event! I am proud to present....

          Beta - Quenching

---The Final Forge period has concluded for the Mexico map. All objections have had their time. The Foundry and I hereby brand this map with the Foundry Beta Brand. Let it be known that this map is now ready for BETA Play. After an extended period of time in BETA and once all quirks and issues have been resolved, the map will be put into Full Play (barring any Lack vetoes).

Conquer Club, enjoy!

              Image

While the map is in BETA Play, there are a couple of administrative tasks that are required of the mapmaker(s) in addition to the initial gameplay testing:
    1. Please ensure that the first post of the thread contains all the necessary information to help future visitors to the development thread; it's particularly important to ensure the most recent images are there, along with any helpful guides (such as gameplay quirks/nuances or the location/size of any starting neutrals etc.)
    2. Please update the Map Information Portal with details of your map
    3. Finally, it is the responsibility of the mapmaker(s) to ensure that they respond to further feedback in a timely and constructive manner.

Ports are named incorrectly as "Puerte", it should be "Puerto de Ensenada, "Puerto Vallarta" (without the 'de'), "Puerto de Acapulco", "Puerto de Cancún", "Puerto de Veracruz" & "Puerto de Tampico".

Good catch, (chum is) fum. Also, you think you should have the abbreviated territories deciphered somewhere on the map?

I'll make those changes tonight ;-)

InsomniaRed received 2 troops for holding Puerte des

Looks like I need to fix up the names of the Ports bonus (and make them neutral starts  )

I would guess it refers to the label Colima appearing out in the ocean. Why not reply to the PM and ask, at the same time suggesting that comments go in this thread?

Is it something that needs fixing (and if so, how?)?
Or is it fine?

It looks fine to me. Colima does not have a port symbol, it has a line. I doubt very many people will be confused. The fact that this one person used the word "bogus" in block caps doesn't mean it is a serious flaw in the map (or even a flaw at all). The only "solution" I can see, if one were needed, would involve serious distortion of the borders so that the Colima label could fit in the region.

Sorry for the late nitpicks but can you change "Valle del Anahuac" to "Valle de Anahuac" MrBenn?
Other thing that changed from version 5 to beta is the junction indicated by the blue arrow:

For geographic acurracy it should change from:

4-way borders are a no-no in map design, Fumando. Geographic accuracy must be fudged at times to improve gameplay clarity.

Quintana Roo is currently misspelled as "Quintina" in both the graphics and XML.
