This a very cool map Cairns, another very cool map I should say! I love how the bonuses work, they're really cunning, the layout must have taken you forever! Much appreciated!

Thanks finchboy. :) Yes, the bonuses were created by simply thinking "outside the box", Glad you like them and the layout.

I'm in love with this map, Cairns. I'd marry it, but I'm sure a jealous lover would give me poison figs. Ok that was a bad joke, but definitely Superb! I'm currently starting a tournament on it. I'm not going to spam, but figure'd you might be interested. The link is in my signature.

Brilliant map. Unlike anything else on cc and actually a very good 1 v 1 map due to the variety of paths and bonus combinations. I'm loving it.

One early comment I have - if a player drops on Julia, that +1 bonus is near impregnable in the early game due to the 5 neutrals on Dictator Caesar. Seems like all the other +1 bonuses are more easily accessible (especially the ones around Aggripina). May not be an issue, but I've been playing the map 1 v 1 alot and noticed this has a large impact.

Id say I only won becuase of escalating cards, but I did like the fact that there is lots of borders, I was only playing for terminator kills, but then found out I could attack others from multiple directions, thus giving me the win.

I like what you are trying to do with the "family tree" as attack routes, but thought the bombardments were out of place.
This is a good map, in the same league as something like waterloo, where it isn't that easy to build.

Graphic wise, I found it a little hard being orange, I could't play without BoB.

But its a keeper, you just can't stop churning out great maps. - Thanks!

Cheers

still havent won a game on it yet, but having great fun discovering all the different routes.

one thing ive noticed is that because the background is mostly white, or at best a light grey colour. when you place the curser on a tert as a way of seeing who you can attack.... well when its a neutral its hard to make out if not impossible.

Brian, thanks for comment.
I too have issues seeing somethings with the yellow of the site and the white doesn't help much either. Sorry about that.

its not a problem to me because when i play with someone who hasnt played the map before i will have a great advantage, and they will whinge like an aussie who has just lost the ashes.... bring it on....

i was only thinking the same thing myself the other day...
would only be a small map though.
11 fielders
2 batsmen..... even if you included the 9 on the balcony (thats an idea)
11 batsmen
2 umpires
3rd umpire
match referee
scorer
2 commentators
streaker.... always a streaker running around
programme seller
icecream seller
beer tent
whats your ideas cairnes. is it possible? suppose it would be a touch elitist as its only really commonwealth chaps who would play it, or would have any idea what the game was about... 5 days play and only a draw? HUH!!!
i know this is the wrong thread and i appologise profusely. but imagine the field placing
silly mid on-off
square leg
backward square
3rd man
deep mid-off
gully
go on mate... lets see what you and your magic fingers can conjour up

In my experience (limited as it may be), this a piss pour map. Now, I know someone worked hard developing it, but how about at least identifying the bonus amounts somewhere. What a crap shoot. Not worth the effort to play since it comes down to the drop.

Jackets55. Thanks for dropping in for comment and your opinion.
My opinion is that you haven't read the legend and applied that to the map ;) Sorry.
Each bonus is clearly identified on the map itself.

Seems like we've gotten to the point where this can graduate from Beta. 1v1 starting terits issue is fixed, 2-terit bonuses are fixed, and there don't seem to be any additional major complaints.

Indeed, one of the best maps around. All neutrals seemed to be balanced.

Great job, cairns!

Ready for the live for sure!
