It's probably the way the font renders so small, as it's not an issue for me on the large map... it looks a tiny bit pixelly (but pixelly is the wrong word)... It doesn't quite seem to blend into the map in the same way as the territory label text... I have an astigmatism, so if nobody else can see it, then it could just be my eyes playing with me...

As I understand it it, you should try a medium or bold version of your font because on a light bg it seems thinner or try to give a darker glow to it.

That was what was bothering me too... perhaps making the font slightly arger or bolder, if at all possible?

Here we go for the legend text on the small map. I adjusted the anti aliasing options for the font and tweaked the glow on the last two styles as well.

Personally I'd go for B or C, and I'm slightly favouring B.

C is the closest to the rest of the text

Jury Summoned!

With the approval of Widowmakers, a jury has been assigned to give final approval to this map. Ruben Cassar, the.killing.44, LED ZEPPELINER, and I will be sitting on the jury. It will require three voices of approval for this map to advance; I will remain a silent member of the jury unless needed. Their duties have been explained to them as follows:

Visit the map thread (link below). Inspect the map with a critical eye; no concern is too small at this point, as we would rather fix problems now than after the map has reached the Forge. If there are any concerns or criticisms, post them in the thread with constructive suggestions for the mapmaker. If there are no concerns and the jury member feels that the map is play ready, please give post in the thread that you give this map his approval to advance.

when i look at this map, it is absolutely stunning, but then i notice the bridges, and one way border. It is not that they are bad, actually they are quite good, but i just don't think they fit the feel of this map. For the bridges, maybe just don't have them curve, just keep them going flat. as for the one way border: i would suggest it being flat also, but also maybe have the mountains dodge it slightly, so that it runs right through them, just a thought. Also i see that you have this really cool double border line thing going on around the lakes, but when you get to the ocean coast, they aren't there, maybe try including the double border line, i think it would make it look better, and keep the map held together nicely. Hope this is helpful. otherwise for that though, the map is quite spectacular, =D> :D

Thanks for the compliments LZ, but actually I think none of that is helpful. That's just picking it apart for the sake of commenting on it. I think the bridges and the one way border would look bad if straight. And the double line around the lakes is what makes the lakes unique - different from the coast line. I mean, would it really help the map to have straight bridges, which in my opinion would fit the map feel even less than curved?

WM - any reason you've saved these as PNGs? and at 640 kb? I think we need it better compressed and jpg.

I like the bridges as is. But one nit-pick thing before I give this my final final look over before the thumps up:

It seems like the borders around the water are of two sorts: The smooth, thicker black borders around the "ocean"; and the thin, sharp borders around the "lakes" with the stroke around them. All's fine with that, and I like it, but the "lake" by Topaz seems to have the border of the ocean. Explanation? or just a small mistake.

Other than that, the only thing I can see is that the red border around the "lake" by Sauron and Ironcrest seems a bit more red and sharp than the others.

=D> Great job, I'll look this over in the morning with fresh eyes before giving it the ol' thumbs up, but atm this looks fantastic.
