natty_dread wrote:Hm, I like the map, but only getting 1 troop in the beginning makes it a bit tedious and dependant on dice. I'd prefer if you would change the territory bonus to 2 troops.
Upon playing a couple of games, this makes sense to me. Anyone else care to opine?

Totally agree. If you have horrible dice at the start, you are in essence screwed

If you're feeling bold you could even up it to 3. Although it might be best to go a step at a time...

I think 3 puts us in danger of first-round eliminations, so hopefully this step will be enough.
Sorry if I didn't see this in the earlier discussion, but why can't the antennas attack ALL the houses, similar to the yard in Super Max? Ditto with the sponsors. Seems like with radio competition as the fundamental premise, then geography/proximity should be largely irrelevant to the gameplay, except for a bum-rush of the stations or pirate stations to seize the antennas.

Well, because then the gameplay would be ridiculous. If you must, think of it as station popularity spreading by word of mouth from neighbor to neighbor. The fanatics are always scanning the airwaves, so stations have to boost power to the antenna temporarily to get noticed by them.

I like the minimum bonus increase, even though it's only been two turns I think it's definitely an improvement.

Well, +1 was a disastrously dice dependent and slow game. I will try to play it with +2 and see how it goes.

there aren't 8 radio towers so there shouldn't be able to be 8 player games.

Pirate stations are starting positions in 7-8 player games.

I didn't notice earlier, but you mention 'no regular territory bonus' --- instead of 'region,' and territory as a word doesn't seem integral to the theme.

This is one area I'd tend to disagree.... I still believe that the majority of CCers refer to individual army spaces as territories, and that people will assume a region relates to a specific group of territories. Having seen the "No standard region bonus" on the updated image, my initial thought is something along the lines of "so it's just autodeploys and the territory bonus".
I'd favour leaving the map as it is

Quite a few maps refer to them as 'territories,' including three others in Beta. Possibly the plurality of maps use 'territory' or some derivative like 'terr.' or DiM's 'terits' (it might be interesting to document how many maps use each term, but I don't quite have time to go through them all at the moment).

I noticed in game 7302123, that I am not receiving my +1 for holding Warren and Banda (2 listener terits). Did something change or might this be a bug?

I checked the game log and it says you did... the label is "an audience of two."

I'm going to ignore the update with the wording of the territory bonus, so unless there's anything I've missed I'd say we're good to go...

Congratulations, Evil DIMwit! I've only played this map once so far, I think, but I do look forward to another go at it.

Upping the minimum bonus from 1 to 2 was genius, I loved the theme of this map from the beginning and the second game was a blast after the update. Great work Evil D.

Congrats Evil D. Well done. I've only played a fog on this and lost very quickly so will have to have it on my radar to try out.
