Fractured America [Quenched]

Here's an idea.

The U.S. economy totally collapsed in 2040 and 10 years later the U.S. is totally fragmented with extremist groups (both political and religious) fighting over territories. Canada split up since their economy was reliant on the US's, so the French finally separated with the rest of the country deciding to tough it out.

The UK decided it was time to reclaim some of their lost territories from the Revolutionary war (they were enemies of the US for the last 25 years).

Mexico conquered half of New Mexico, Arizona and Texas.

The Cubans in Florida just ceded from the union and joined Cuba and took southern Alabama and Georgia with it.

Bonuses:
There are 86 territories with 14 bonus territories PLUS bonuses for holding X number of capitals!

Game play:
- 6 Capitals start as neutral
- Random placement
- Some impassables with no one way attacks

That's it. As you can see it is your standard game play with a couple of extras.

Very nice draft. I can see this being great for Quads and eight-man singles. Good job.

Good start, calling Eastern Pennsylvania "NY" {twitch} I'm pretty sure you could fit "Phila" in there. I dunno if the political party logo are copyrighted, you might have to look into that. If so you probably could call them "red" and "blue" states and convey the same idea.

Ooops ... Next revision it will be chanced. How about Phil instead of Phila? Also since they are political parties by the people (supposedly), they are in public domain. (Notice the slight change in the Democrat's logo?)

Phil is fine :)

If the logos are public domain your good, I'd just make sure to be on the safe side. Yeah, the donkey is little further left then I remember. ;)

I love the idea of it, the only problem I see is the game play venturing too close to USA Apocalypse.
Maybe the groups should be more along the lines of the "Bible Belt", I don't understand a couple of them.
Great first draft

Looks awesome man, but I was wondering shouldn't there be a Mormon bonus region centered around Utah????.....I mean this would be a highly feasible region in what you are describing.

Sounds a little more likely than the whole West Coast going Islamist.

interesting concept, looks good. the canadian area is really muddled, and wouldn't make sense if this is about the US economy... but whatever... just clean it up in the top area

Yea, I don't get that part at all. If anything, we'd go gay before Islamic.

aactually, the Islam population is rising, while homosexuallity has remained at a steady seven percent or less.

Anyway, I don't think the bible belt should go all the way to northern va and the maryland area. Northern va is actually a very diverse, non redneck area with tons of high tech and millitary jobs near the dc area. Maybe you could have a secret society nation or sumthin.

It would also be cool as a feature to have a special gameplay tidbit of a small, maybe four territory area (possibly swine flu quarentine) where people can go in, but cat come out? I'm not sure, but it seems a pandemic of sorts would cause all of this ruckus in the first place, no?

I'll give it a maybe. The graphics are not helping though. If you add on some story with showing what each flag represents which organization then it might be good. I think it has potential.

Good thoughts. I'll make some changes for the second revision. Maybe you go in,, can't leave and you lose 1 a turn for holding each territory?

That is in the Legend. I'll be attempting to put each bonus name in the bonus area next revision.

They are going in, I'm doing research on Mormon flags. Unfortunately, so far none are in public domain. I might have to create my own.

Please describe what you mean. The Canadian economy does rely on the US economy to a certain extent.

It sometimes isn't really clear which are the different "continents", especially to the right. But I like the map size and all.
Maybe the Democratic Socialist Party is a bit of a sore point you are touching, since some might find it insulting.

I think it is a good idea but as of now it is a little too crowded. That could possible only be because of the army numbers, so could you post one without them?
