That was an easy review. Hardly any extra usergroups, looks like you have a very loyal bunch there.

good to see this going ahead as someone who suggested a similar ladder system some time again im glad to see some serious effors being made to make it happen, i also hope the clan leaders group works out well
Don't now why people on here don't like being cooks, remember under siege: A former SEAL, now cook, is the only person who can stop a gang of terrorists when they sieze control of a US Navy battleship.

I still have to update this for several challenges. Anytime a new challenge is thrown in, I have to find the date and sequence and requires me to re-evalutate points of all challenges after so it's a lot of work. If it's a new challenge, it's really easy.

So under the current ELO/clan ladder system... if WOTW ties LOD in the current clan war, ;), WOTW moves up in the ladder and LOD moves down because LOD had a higher ELO rating than WOTW? I can see how that might be fair later, when a bunch of clan wars have been played and you have a better statistical sample, as you've already said. But initially I guess it would cause some massive swings on the ladder. Not a big problem for me, just wanting to make sure I've got it right.

I'll be sure to tell the Warlords to step up to their A-game.

ELO is an awesome band, btw. "Evil Woman" is one of my favorite songs.

Yes, LOD is expected to win, however, the movement on a tie at this point would be minimal though.

ok question: if the imperial dragoons slaughter lod viciously in the current 60 game challenge, will lod move down on the ladder?

Yes, under the current beat-down it is several spots. ID will create a bigger gap between them and 3rd place, but are a ways from catching THOTA.

I was recently trying to get a 3 way clan challenge going, how would this work with the ladder?

You play X 3 teams doubles
X standards
X assassins
and if you wanted you could add terminators (but I'm not sure how points could be allocated for that

EDIT: you wouldn't be able to have triples or quads

well preferably the # of games would be divisible by 20, but it techinically may have to be added as 3 seperate challenges for ease of input into the ladder. jpcloet would probably know definitively. it hadnt come up yet in discussions.

I've checked the website (wiki) and it doesn't say so maybe it can't be done

Interesting thought. Unless the winning team gets 2 victories and the other 2 clans each receives a loss. I don't think ELO was meant for that. Plus once you have more than 2 clans in a challenge, I think that should be considered a tournament, especially if there's a theme. I'm going to put a thread on this within the CLA. Be interesting also how you would measure the result between the losing clans as a tie/loss.

IMO, Clan wars should include singles, doubles, triples and quad games. How would you propose to do a 3 clan quad or triples game? I'm not even sure if 9 player trips or 12 player quads is likely to happen anytime soon. If they have to play in a round robin format, it sounds like a tournament.

but thats only your perception of a clan war, we need to make sure and not limit ourselves, not all clans like triples or quads, just because our clans do.

Did jpcloet read my post about there being 3 way doubles, assassin and singles? of course that could be extended to 4 clans and 8 clans if it only includes Singles games (i.e. assassin, terminator and standard)

There are many ways to define a challenge, if I challened you and hwhrhett to 10 matches would that officially become a tournament because there are 3 of us playing a series of games?

Great questions! I wouldn't approve a challenge for LOD with just one player, and if it came to that, I wouldn't be sending me right now :)

How would you define a clan war challenge? How many players minimum should be participating? What other criteria should be met?

Clan Duels are ones that involve 2 clans
Clan Wars are ones that involve 3+ clans

(War is a very loose term of course under traditional definition it would include duels)
-----------------------------------------

FAST POSTED RESPONSE:

Maybe a minimum of 5 or 6 players for each clan involved.
Minimum of 10 games (So freemium forces can still be played)

Other criteria I don't really know, possibly it must have 2 types of games. e.g. Doubles and Triples, Quads and 1v1s, 1v1s and Singles (yes I would define these 2 as different)
Of course then the problem comes for squads that only play Quads or one specific type, so it's something that's hard to define

I'd like to know how LoW moved above The Untouchables and how the Imperial Dragoons are also above this clan?

Consdiering LoW an Dragoons have only won 1 clan war and TUC have won 3

The ladder includes the Teams Doubles League Results as well, as noted in the CLA forums. It was recently updated for several challenges. LOW beat Sky Force a while back and it was the margin of victory that has them 0.06 points ahead of TUC. I don't like re-evaluating all the points so hopefully all the know challenges are out there now. The TDL has the ID team beating TUC 10-6. I used all the data I could get.
