Defer Auto-Deploys

Concise description:
  • If you miss a turn the next turn you do receive certain bonuses yet you miss out on autodeploys which on certain maps gives one player an extreme advantage or disadvantage. (Negative deploy maps to the person who misses, positive deploys to people who do not)
  • On maps such as dustbowl you can collect your continent bonus while only suffering half of the penalty or a third if you miss two turns.

Specifics:
  • Auto-Deploys are deferred as with standard deploys.

Possible Look in Game Log
Code: Select all
player got bonus of -1 troops added to Boise City
player got bonus of -1 troops added to Dalhart
player received 3 troops for 3 regions
player received 3 deferred troops for missing 1 rounds
--- Important Line --->>> player received -2 bonus troops deferred
player deployed 3 troops on Boise City
Insert Arbitrary attacking
player deployed 3 troops on El Paso
--- Important Line --->>> player got deferred bonus of -1 troops added to Boise City
--- Important Line --->>> player got deferred bonus of -1 troops added to Dalhart

This will improve the following aspects of the site:
  • As far as I can tell this is the only advantage gained by missing turns in non-escalating game, therefore this can be used to eliminate any (dis)advantages caused by this.

disagree.. you shouldnt miss a turn... this would give huge tactical advantages in some games.

No it wouldn't... why would it give someone an advantage to miss a turn?

In no cards games or flat rate there is no bonus for missing a turn. Twice as many turns to defend with much fewer units.

Wrong - there is no advantage to this at all...

Not to mention the deferred troops would come in after the turn is over... so they can't be used for yet another turn.

what about deferred auto-deploys (positive ones) for missed turns then? (I.e., Feudal, City Mogul, etc)

That's what I was suggesting... all auto-deploys are deferred. Just the example of negative is because that's the only deferring that gives you an advantage

I don't think people should get any deferred troops, and the fact that they don't get deferred troops for auto deploys is excellent. Don't want to miss the auto deploy? Don't miss the turn. Simple really :)

That's the problem some people don't want the negative auto-deploys:

In Dustbown if I hold texas and miss 2 turns on the third I will get +18 for two turns missed. I will only get -3 for my -1 territories. I should be getting that deferred as well (-6 in total) giving them an advantage.
