'Freeze Game' Option *Rejected*

So i was thinking about how i'm probably going to lose this game i'm in because i'm going to be spending all day at work tomorrow, which reminds me why i avoid freestyle.

I think it would be dumb to have an option to freeze games on weekends as a set thing in the game no matter what, its too much of a commitment.

What if somehow incorporated into the games there was a "freeze request" option. The idea is that one player, if going to be gone for a weekend, a day, a few hours, may request of his opponents that the game be frozen till he returns. The other players would have to unanimously agree, of course. I figure there would be time options of so many hours, or days.

Perhaps i'm assuming people's hearts are too good, but i think players would respect these requests so long as they are reasonable.

It seems like this will just slow down the pace of the games even more, and thats not a good thing.

if everyone in the game agrees, i dont see how it can be a negative thing. I actually think its a good idea.
Saying that it would slow down the game, doesnt really matter, since everyone playing agrees to have the game slowed down for a lil while.

You read my mind!!!!
I think this idea is great. It makes total sense. As long as either everyone, or a majority say 'yes', then why not? Votage should be kept anonymous though (maybe).
For example, this weekend, is bank holiday weekend in the UK. Everyone will be going away for the weekend, including me. America also must have holidays, when it would be convenient for games to be put on pause for a few days.
I think it's crap and it sucks that this suggestion is in the 'rejected' list.

What about it sounds terrible? There isn't a single negative to this. If everyone in the game agrees to freezing it, then noone is unhappy with it.
I would certainly be willing to delay a game a day or two to help someone out. Maybe its because I'm not a selfish asshole like most people are apparently. If someone starts requesting more than once, I'm sure I would be less willing to allow it.
Games go on for months, seriously why would I care if the game went on 1 extra day.

No, because it will delay games, and there will be too many complaints.
If you're going away, find an account sitter to play your games for you!

Who will complain? I don't understand what you guys are talking about.

It will only get delayed if EVERYONE AGREES to delay it. You can't complain if you agreed to it.

The only reasons I see to not implement this is if it would be difficult to code, and that there will always be someone so selfish they can't wait one day, so the feature probably wouldn't be used much.
Which I'm willing to accept if these are the reasons you are against it.
Not because it will delay games and upset people. Because it clearly won't!

Most of the vets on the site wouldn't use this.
What happens if you have a new recruit playing, and he decides not to play, how do you vote for him?

A bunch of different things you have to take into consideration :)

Yeah, I understand a lot of vets won't use this. I already mentioned the selfish assholes.

As for the noob deadbeat. A deadbeat will probably slow the game down enough that the person who wanted to freeze it will be able to get back in time. So its ok that he wasn't able to vote.
