New Game Numbering System [Pending]

Idea: Create a new system so the string of numbers doesn't continue to grow to 7 digits
Specifics: Lately I have been thinking that the system of game numbers is becoming a problem. It was nice and simple in the beginning, (up to perhaps 10,000 games) but ever since we've been in the 6 digits I've had a hard time remembering a game number (instead I have to write it down or check multiple times). This problem will only get worse once we reach 1 million games and beyond, which is coming quickly.
Solution: As we roll onto the 1 millionth game, create a new number system with the letter 'A' at the front or the end (probably the front). This would let us go through another million games with much less data stored in many of the games numbers. So we would have A1, A2, A10, A100, A67843 etc.
Then when you reach 1 million again you repeat with the letter B, and so on. It would give us 100,000 new games with simplified numbers (6 characters or less), and it would yield 16 million additional games that could be stored in 7 characters.
Priority: 3. It wouldn't need to be in place until 1 million games....and I'm not entirely sure I like the idea

eventualy the number would get so long that something like this would have to be implemented, sooner, at 1 million would make sense. I can't think of any better way to handle this

perhaps have a system so that u can tell what sort of game it is by the number/letter combination... similar to area codes for telephone numbers
for example, all doubles games could start with D and then numbers and triples with T, etc, etc
you could even go map specific T001-XXXXXX for classic or something
ultimately this will eventuate in the same problem down the track, especially for the most popular settings which would get there quicker. but nevertheless, it would make remembering game numbers easier imho

A1 is delicious.
Anyway this is a good idea. I don't see 26 million games coming up anytime soon unless I start another plethora of 1v1 games

so I don't see any need to further adapt this suggestion. Nice 1.

I actually like pure game numbers. I think it's cool to tell people that over 600k games have been played on the site.

What happens when we get to Z1000000? do we then go AA1, AA10, AA673465?

I think all the game numbers should be in Binary. That would be easy to remember.

it should just be random
example:
game code: d45fhb.2d4zr.h z\r9 - pass: ron

perhaps we should give the game numbers human names, like hurricanes, and so it could be like sheila1 or marcus893.
lol

the A thing wouldnt help that much. Quite soon it would be at A100000 and so from that to A999999 it would still be memorizing 7 digits.

That's funny, I assumed it would change to B after A99999. How foolish of me.

I am for the idea. I think the leading alpha character takes less "memory" in the brain than an added digit. One seems less likely to transpose A125123 than 1125123.
Will there be leading zeroes after the A? I.e., A000005 or just A5? I think the latter would be better (in which case the use of the alpha provides another benefit for games #1,000,000 to 1,099,999).
