[Rules] Distribute Deadbeat's Points to Active Players

I'm just playing a sequential game where two people are deadbeating right from the start because they started out with bad holdings.
As it is, deadbeats don't lose anything and the worst you can do to them is give them negative feedback, but how about this:
People who deadbeat from the start of a game lose points, too. These are distributed among ALL the other players in the game, not just to the winner(s).
It's only an idea I just had but I feel that would take care of deadbeating in no time at all.

well i think deadbeaters should be delt with but not like that^^^^ they should have a seperate amout of points taking off them (this goes for all deadbeaters) so what im getting at is, say we all agreed that every deabeater had 30 points taking off them just for deadbeating, this mean no matter who you are 30 points will be deducted off your score and given to the winners of the game
this is just a thought because im getting to breaking point with all these deadbeaters in my game

lol

I am not completly sure about it, but i would say this is the 209321. thread about this item (although it is to commit that this is one of the most sensible and logical and least aggressive threads).
I don't think that you are alone with your suggestion neither that everybody is agreeing with you.

I'd suggest something that doesn't give points simply to the winners - for example, I was recently playing a team game in which my teammate went deadbeat, hanging me out to dry. I lost, which means I lost points because this character went deadbeat. So... I suggest that penalty points be spread around to all active players, since a deadbeat hurts everyone playing.

i am in a game
http://www.conquerclub.com/game.php?game=38665 where my partner is deadbeating tho he keeps comin back just before he is kicked therefore prolonging a lost game. he has so far missed 4 out of 7 turns! this is particularly frustrating and i would gladly see him lose extra points whoever they went to

The scoreboard is suppose to reflect skill. If you start awarding points for something that doesn't take any skill, being in a game with a deadbeat, it does that just slightly less. Not much, but enough to make it not worth doing. No one should get the points, they should just be lost by the deadbeat.

Agree, but it is really necessary deadbeaters lose points. The start is a very important part of the game. If you deadbeat when you aren´t well positioned at the start you are CHEATING. In the other hand, if you cannot play the weekend or next two days, don´t start a game!.

@Tucker
That's why I said that the points the deadbeats lose should be distributed among all the active players in the game, that way it won't skew the Scoreboard.
Gaining 5 points from a deadbeat won't change your ranking much, but losing 20 or 30 will hurt.

this is why i suggested that JUST the winners gets a set amout of points off the deadbeat because he still had to win even if there is a deadbeater in the game and it doesent make it more easier to win it still gives everyone an even chance to win...........if we start distributing points to everyone like 5 points then this makes it highly unfair for the winner/s still i mean would you really want to take off 5 points off some1 although they say every little helps but come on 5 points is pittyful and a deadbeat wont stop if he has to sacrafice 5 points instead of the 25 points he would of lost he he carried on playing.......

To both current ideas.
No to "only the winner gets points from deadbeats". It used to be that way and was changed to the current system. It rewards people for beating someone who's not there.
Second suggestion was that the deadbeat lost his normal amount of points but would be distributed between everyone. Hardly seems worthwhile then if the points are so low anyway so might as well not give any. Deadbeats will lose points in a future update.
As to deadbeats not possibly making it easier to win, that's not true. When a deadbeat goes, they leave a bunch of neutral territories behind. If you have some neutral territories blocking off 1 of a continent's borders its like free defenses with no threat from them. Allows you to move some troops elsewhere.

Since it takes no skill to "defeat" a deadbeat their points should be distributed to everyone, the deadbeat will lose his 20 or 30 points or whatever, and everyone will get an equal share, mostly because they have to go somewhere, I don't think either of you would like to see points disappear.
I really don't see why there should be a problem with this, so what if 5 additional points is pitiful, the point is not to skew the scoreboard while still punishing deadbeating.
I'm also talking about real deadbeats here, those who only take their first turn, if that. Not about people who decide to drop out after 50 rounds in a no-cards game. It's ok that their points go to the winner.

Well then why dont the points just dissapear ? then only the deadbeat looses out, and everyones happy

Why not set up a tagging icon system for deadbeats. Like a GREEN icon for someone who has DB'ed 2-4 games ( maybe their MOM died and had to be away for a while

). A YELLOW icon for 5-10 DB's (they've DB'ed before but hasn't made it a habit. YET

). And a RED icon for the Chronic DB'er 11+ that cries like a pussy and quits every time when they don't get the premium spots when the game sets up

. Then anyone joins a game you can tell the DB'er type of person signed up, no icon then not a deadbeat

. Then you can make a decision on whether or not you are going to risk joining and playing with that person or persons

or can withdraw if they sign up after you and are still waiting for players

. Just a thought because this is an issue that has been around since before I joined 3 years ago
