Well ok i may be a buffoon but the times i have brushed the tickbox to de-select the tick and told the world of a cunning and devious team-plan or not brushed the tickbox and told the world a dark and personal secret... are too many.

I don't do this on a regular basis thankfully and i realise it is entirely user error but would 2 buttons in the place of 1 and the tickbox make it better?

1 button Team chat
1 button public chat

*this should be seen as a luxury: I had resisted this though i do agree with it! If this causes more difficulty in instituting the change due to needing 3 buttons for Team and 2 for singles then ignore it.

Perhaps this is something we'd look at when addressing and optimizing the User Interface. I suppose stay tuned.

so many ideas everyday it must be impossible to even read them.. let alone do anything with them.

Yeah i really like this idea.. it is so annoying if youre trying to carry on a game chat in a team game.

I like this idea as well, I am constantly frustrated with something being said as team that was supposed to be public and visa versa.
I'm assuming that nothing would be selected as default and you would have to press one of them or the chat does nothing.

hah! i would also like spell check in the Subject title box.

yes instead of a post and a tickbox you have 2 buttons as detailed above.

Greasemonkey is the one that currently has spellcheck (and it does work in Titles as well)

I have it but it does not work for the Subject line.

In firefox, right click then click "check spelling". I've never been sure why it's not auto though.

Yeah, it is auto in the main field though

i have misused that evil little tickbox again!

That happened to me once. I was talking team strategy, and I forgot to hit the team chat check box We lost.

tick box is rubbish!

this does not just happen once or twice in a whole Risk career, it happens all the flipping time .. one little un-noticed click, anywhere near the blinking thing and et voilà! 'it's ok lads! i have a 3 card set .. they'll never suspect muahahahah i will kill green while yellow wastes his troops getting a card!'

YES WE NEED THIS!

Sometimes I click "team only" or "Talk to self" as the page loads, then BOB reads my data, and resets the check box...two boxes would fix this

i like this idea...i have had this problem too.

i suggest this idea should include 'note to self' also.
as once in an assasin game i wanted a nots to self saying that who attacks whom but accidently i de-selected not to self!!!
and then everyone came to kno who attacks whom

so i like this idea

At the moment - if you type something and hit enter - it posts it... but with separate buttons you would need to choose the default.

Personally I think - Note to self should be default - as then you would always be safe if you accidentally pressed enter.

Alternatively - remove the default - and only allow button pressing (tabbing and enter)

On a third point - Can we fix the "duplicate message checker" so that it can distinguish between team/self/public chat...

Whenever I post something to team instead of public - I then have to modify it to pass the check.

What i had in mind is -

i do not understand the coding .. but if we have 2 buttons you type the text and then select which one it is
eg.
-Press Button 1 to make Text Public
-Press Button 2 to make Text Team
-Press Button 3 for Text Note to Self

there is no need for default is there?
