New Idea: NEUTRAL EROSION *OPTION*

Concise description:
  • Add an *OPTION* to erode all neutral armies in selected games by 5% each turn, with a minimum erosion set to 1 army per neutral territory per turn. Unselected games can be left as it works today.

Specifics:
  • Some people resent deadbeaters blocking off territories and continents by leaving behind large numbers of neutral armies. This idea would gradually erode unattended neutral armies.

More details:

A block of 200 neutral armies would go down to 190 after 1 turn, then down to 181 one turn later, then 172....

A block of 25 neutral armies would go down to 24 after 1 turn, then down to 23 one turn later, then 22, and so on....

The minimum decay rate could be set to 1 army taken away per neutral territory per turn, until it reaches 1 army.

This will improve the following aspects of the site:
  • This would add much-needed fluidity to any maps with neutrals.
  • It would allow skilled players to eventually take advantage of otherwise "frozen" map areas, and would be the saving grace of games otherwise ruined by deadbeats.

For some maps that's just taking advantage of the system. On new world in 3 turns you could easily conquer another home land. If it happened to all territories maybe. But just neutrals No way.

how about until it reaches 3 or 5 neutral armies, then it stops.

how about this scenario:

other maps are developed like aor with RP's - so then they have different neutral values favouring other people's starts ect.

i think this makes gameplay WAY too unbalenced,

I don't like it as i think it makes it more easy on those who seek games prone to Deadbeaters, to gain easy points.
It would give them a faster turnaround of games and would exacerbate this scoring loophole.

seeing as most games dont have a neutral in that has a 5% value of more than 1, i dont think its worth it.
