Same deal.

2008-11-28 07:36:53 - kylegraves1: you stole my game[/list]

ROFL...I think this is the best part!

As a new recruit, kylegraves private messaged everyone with a rank colonel and up for advice on how to play. I was the only person that responded as I found out later. I have not only been in the process of teaching kyle, but I was probably the reason why he purchased premium. Additionally, when he said that I stole his game, he was trying to join that game for the same reason which I joined, he wanted to up his rank and that was a n00b game.

Farming is done by anyone who joins those games, not just high ranks, and my limiting high ranks to joining then, you are saying that there should be a double standard. If I could only play someone with two thirds of my score, I could only play 46 people, many of who are blocked or foed.

While I agree that joining games with people waiting for their friends is sleazy, and for that reason I avoid playing many n00b games, take a look at the game chat:

Kyle,

Thanks for correcting my mistake about why you wrote you that comment in that new recruit's game - I have updated the thread accordingly. But I respectfully request that you stop flaming this suggestion thread, as that is your stated intention. Please keep comments pertinent to the suggestion.

I have nothing personal against Max or anybody on CC. He is playing within the system and succeeding and more power to him for being so good at it. I'm serious. But I just want ConquerClub to be a place where you don't have to resort to farming to win. It should be like any other competitive game where to be acclaimed the best you have to beat the best. Like Ric Flair says, "To be the man, you gotta beat the man!".

I find the fact that sjnap could play colonel games, and even brig games, and still be excluded from the scoreboard because brigadiers dont have 2/3s his score rather hilarious. Farming may be a big issue on this site in the opinion of some, but how would you explain that someone like me, who plays 4 point games, a few active at a time, manages to keep his spot on the scoreboard while other farmers remain strippers and mid ranked officers. Clearly if it was as big of an issue as you and others are hyping it out to be, I would have a lot more competition, that playing 1-1s would be considered obsolete due to the competition from others playing 8-player games, and who win eight times the amount of points which I get per game, while playing ten times the amount of games which I play.

Let's PM tons of ?s when they first get here, organize them, have them learn through watching our games before playing, then set them loose on Max, Herpes, and the like.

Wouldn't it be priceless to watch a player drop 300 points over the course of 5 games, then have to win it back over the course of 50?

This is a fantastic idea. YES, I had the idea in another thread, that it would be great to organize a Farmers - Farmer group. I had the idea when I saw them create the Farmers guild. I thought OK, lets farm the farmers.
I invite any one that is interested in signing up for instructors, to pm me.

Oh, and don't bother if you are a farmer., as the new map rank is very good at exposing who you are. ...hehehe. :D 8-)

HAHAHA, You picked the Farmers Guild as your name. I am sure that you would allow others to pick their own names. Talk about a clan war, This could be the most epic CC Clan Clash. I will see you KING, at the front lines. ...lol. 8-)

Wouldn't be all too epic point wise.

Let's assume 40 games total (20 home each team).
One win for the ?s (let's say it's a meaty one): 100 points.
Even at 39 wins for the Farmers @ a whopping 6 points/win that's only 234.

So, at a record of 1-39 in favor of the Farmers Guild they would still only be up 134 points

That is... Assuming we cannot get the ?s to win a bunch. Would only take 3 wins total to surpass the Farmers point wise though ;)

This is also assuming you could get a Farmer to agree to a game with someone who knows what the hell they will be doing and is even remotely capable of coordinating his or her self...
Don't count on it

I feel a good percentage of the farmers couldn't handle mid-ranked players on their own, nevermind if they are letting their guard down in any way against a ?. I'm not saying I know I could beat the conqueror himself, but he DID pm me asking me for a game, yet when I pmd him back 'Fine, but no speed-free' I never received another response.

Number 1.) A fricking cook could teach them enough to know NOT to start an FS game.
Number 2.) any equalitatian Maj. is more skilled at 'RISK" than all the noob farming Generals put together.
Pay close attention to the leaderboard, As the noob farmers are about to reap what they have sewn.   ... ;)

I have made this post in duplicate; once here and once in the original Simple Solution to Farming/Point Hoarding thread. [Here's a link to the twin post in that thread.]
That thread had been overwhelmed by off topic posting which has all now been removed and collected here.

Please remember that in Suggestions & Bug Reports you are posting off topic if:
  • You focus discussion on the players causing a problem. Instead you should focus discussion on the problem itself and the solution.
  • You discuss things other than the idea suggested in the original post.
  • You suggest completely different ideas to the one the original post suggests. If you have a subtly different idea, please do make that in the same thread as a it is a variation on the original. But if your idea is completely different to the original post please start a new thread to discuss it. Feel free to post in the original thread to let people know about your new thread.
I believe you will see my intention. Please PM me if you have any questions.

I will move this "Off Topic edit" to General Discussion if discussion continues since, as it is not focussed on the suggestion, that is its proper home.
