Concise description:

Option for players in clans to update a clan tag in front of their name

Specifics, improvements to gameplay and Advantages:

changeable clan tags
Allows players to easily identify what competitive clan a player is in
increasingly useful now that clans are becomming more popular and with the advent of the 09 clan league
Easier to search for fellow clan members by searching for clan tag as a search criterion
A perk almsot any active clan player would greatly appreciate, we all love to show our loyalty

i don't know about using it for a search criteria, but it would be cool to see after a players name, and not before it... i am pretty sure this has been suggested before, but i have no idea of the ins and outs of it all... and what about users with multiple groups they can select from? would this only be for competitive clans or all usergroups? why should the pirate ninja clan (social) be excluded from this, while others aren't? hmmm... i can already see it getting messy when someone or some group or some aspect of social clans are left out of the mix... and how long would a clan have to be in existence before receiving a tag? 6 months? a year? think of how many clans have come and gone in the last year and how many of them are truly inactive now... the phoenix warlords come to mind... anyway, you have a lot to figure out!!! the black jesus has spoken...-0

Putting the tag after the username seems like a better idea to me as well.
