Ok then... Then allow me just to point out that you seem to have some problems with your reading comprehension. What people were supposed to do was...
The Sportsmanship Rule...
As there are only a limited number of moderators and a rather large number of public members, we are asking that everyone be courteous and play in only one game at a time. If you want to join game after game, that is fine, but please do not join multiple games at once in order to keep spots available to as many people as possible.
... i.e. if people expect to have public games just sitting around waiting for them, well, too bad. And besides, there were plenty of games lying around during that weekend that took forever to fill up. So your whining here is just meaningless.
/ regards, Rocky Balboa of Whac-A-Mod 2

The problem was that the rules evolved as the weekend went on. First, we had
Optimus Prime telling us that one at a time only applied to speed games (see
here), then
Andy Dufresne said that once you had won, or even played several games, you should step aside (see
here). (I would quote those posts here, but I don't see how to quote a post in a locked topic.) I know I would have played at least one more game if I had known about OP's interpretation of the rules. Maybe this could be made explicit for the next contest, as well as a reminder to keep an eye on the forum thread for updates, since clearly, a little flexibility in view of supply and demand is called for.
Despite being one of those games that didn't count (with you,
alstergren, but all my fault for joining an empty game), I had a lot of fun and look forward to Whac-A-Mod 3 (The Return of the Cooks)!
