Deadbeating? Honor?

I am in 4 doubles game in team with MedalOfHonor.

To my shock today morning I've found out that he is a cheater:

http://www.conquerclub.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=8808

I still feel sick to my stomach. I have decided that I don't want to play with him anymore, nor to be associated with him in any ways. I fact I feel ashamed, that I have put so much trust in him. But it is not about him, that's a separate thread.

He is still playing. So I have decided not to take any more turns in those games, in other words - deadbeat. And I have stated my intentions in the game chat to all others players.

I know, I hate deadbeaters myself, but out of 2 evils, I think deadbeating is a lesser.

Would you do the same?

i feel pretty sick too, just as i did when i saw amps post in d's forum

personally ive never missed a turn, and ill finish the turns i have, but I feel your pain, and respect your willingness to lose points that you have fought hard for in protest

if i was in a doubles game i would possibly do the same, especially if i knew the opponents

Im glad there are players in here like you, to outweigh the few who have no respect for sportsmanship

Andrew,

Tough position you're in. I think your goal of not helping Medal earn another point is the right one but by deadbeating you (potentially) hurt the other players in the game as well (by delaying resolution of a flawed game particularly for non-premiums, skewing it in favour of one side or the other, etc.). I think I'd present the other players with two choices;
1. You deadbeat.
2. You place your armies but don't attack.
And go with the consensus of what your opponents think best.

You could also just attack your cheating 'partner' every chance you get, you're likely going to lose the point anyway might get some satisfaction form kicking his 'honor' in the teeth a bit...

Regards,

Zim

If it's Doubles, then he can't posibly cheat (unless twit is one of the "opponents"). His history or rep doesn't give you the right to abandon a team-mate in the geme (games) in wich he clearly isn't cheating.

if you are considering deadbeating, then consider this:
place your armies and attack MoH

your going to lose points by dead beating - show him what you think of cheats
kill him

Just ask the people in the game.

In this point I don't care about points, points come and go. Even though there are some people here, (not you, Fitz, they will know who I am talking about) which think differently about me.

There are much more important things in Risk then points - Pride, Honor, Valor, Rules of Engagement. They are all puzzle pieces of the most important thing - "FUN" - Yes, FUN! Points and ranking are RESULT of the FUN - ie. playing and winning game but winning ONLY within the boundaries of Rules of Engagement.

Playing with a cheater definitely won't result in fun.

2. You place your armies but don't attack.

place your armies and attack MoH

Thanks a lot, guys, for the suggestions. But I cannot attack my team mate not in the game, nor in the real life, no matter how much he suck. So I have decided to carry on playing and finish the games, giving the opponents option to hold me accountable for my words. And actually in 2 out of 4 games the opponents already asked me to continue to play.

The proper solution would have been is to ban him from playing. Unfortunately I cannot do this, only site administration can.

Thanks guys

Why make the other players suffer? Take your turns and kill the wanker. You say you cannot attack your partner, but gave no explanation as to why. So it remains that you choose to make the innocent suffer (i.e. sit around with their collective thumbs up their butts waiting 3 days for your time to run out) with the guilty. WTF!? Personally i find your "solution" to be cowardly.

Did you read my last post?

Do you research first, before you call someone a coward.

AndrewB, from the link you provided it looked like MoH was cleared. What gives?

Read it to the end, decision is still pending, and Andy did say he was cheating.

From the looks of it, there are alot more than just AndrewB stating MoH was cheating. Many reports of cheating have been made. Why would someone cheat to gain higher level? That's so childish, and MoH, swearing every other word, is not hardcore, nor is it cool.

Take the points. you joined in honor. OR punish him for being a cheat. your choice. but do not dead beat...... almost as bad as a cheat...both ruin games.

What I would do is take all turns and make all moves on those turns. It is dishonorable to deadbeat and proves that a person is a coward.
