So I've won 1, lost 1 and about to win another one, and about to lose another one as well. It seems to me that certain starting positions are very advantageous and almost certainly guarantee a win. Are there maps where the starting position more or less does not influence the outcome of the game? Perhaps maps from your experience that you decided were fair to all starting positions?

city mogul or even WWII poland (beta). the starting position in the last game is nearly equal, but there he rule is whomever is first wins, unless a noob or very bad dice

Most of the maps are not that drop dependent. The maps you are playing are all pretty normal to be honest.

Try larger maps, there's more spread to balance the luck.

Also, try maps where everyone starts out equally. Like AOR maps, Feudal, ect. They are the more difficult maps to master, but once you learn how to play them the starting field is pretty much even.

Stay the hell away from Age of Merchants, but if you must play it play it a few times with Fog off.
