Wall Posts/PM Question

I know that agreeing/proposing alliances outside of game chat is against the rules. If another player sends me information as to their strategy/insinuates that we might not have to fight along our border in a certain game, is that illegal? And is there anything I should do, other than try to ignore the information (maybe mention in game chat that I got the info)?

This is the second time this has happened, and I'm just wondering if there's some etiquette involved.

i would advice that u copy the wall/pm post to game chat this way no-one can claim secret diaplomacy but this can ruin u game plan. but sadly sometimes u have to. this is my advice but there are other ways for example report the player or add him to u'r ignore list.

No diplomacy by PMs or wall messages.

I have a feeling that I am going to take a lot of heat for this, but I would recommend creating a topic on the Cheating and Abuse board. As stated by MeDeFe above, proposing truces (such as not having to fight along a border) must be done clearly in game chat. This is a rule that you agree to abide by when signing up on the site.

Some other posters have suggested mentioning it to the player, which of course is a good idea, but also suggested not reporting it unless they have a history of doing this. I think you are better off following the site rules and allowing the volunteer team to handle rule violations rather than making a decision yourself. I would not try to reach a judgment on this person's guilt.

Keep in mind that if this is an honest mistake, the C&A mods will warn them and they can continue to use CC provided they follow the rules.

No heat from me, you are absolutely right. Everyone knows the rules, and the C&A mods are there for a reason. It is up to them to judge, not individuals such as ourselves.
