Why do people keep their online status hidden?
I understand changing it during a game when someone doesn't want to take their turn but why hide it all the time?

Bingo! I have been hidden for ages. Also some people do not wished to be bombed with PM's when they log in.
P.S. Ask Slow how many times I did that to him.

As Bruce pointed out, sometimes people wish to avoid having to reply to PMs right away, etc---or perhaps some people are just private? When I first started out on CC I kept myself Hidden for the majority of a couple of months. Then I decide to just keep myself unhidden from there on out---and its been that way ever since.
