Doesn't it feel strange to play certain maps with the fog turned off?
Poland
Feudal and Epic
New World
AoR
Pelop War
Waterloo has been suggested (I agree with Master Fenrir on this one)
Imperium Romanum
Supermax!
Arms Race!
Route 66
Posion Rome has been suggested
Oasis
Galapagos
City Mogul has been suggested (I disagree on this one)
Poker Club
For example.
How did we manage before the fog?

I play Poland and New world without fog all the time, and it's fun.

No way, Waterloo and Supermax are often-times just as, if not more, fun with fog of war enabled. I guess it's down to personal preference, but any map can be played with or without fog of war (except maybe the St. Paddy's Day map - sequential with fog).

Thanks George...I'm staring at it and staring wondering what I had done wrong.
I must have been in a fog.

I'm in two Feudal Epic tournies and the games are no fog.
One game is up to 35 rounds and the other is well on its way.
Fog of war is a must on the Feudal maps.

Unless you like the 50+ round games

every map that has autodeploy bonuses should be played with fog. period.
that being said, Supermax and Waterloo arent on "must be fog" list, but they are more fun that way

i disagree
following your rule, Egypt Lower would have to be played fog too. I think it´s the same fun sunny, and gameplay doesn´t change. In Feudal, AOR and some more maps, fog makes a big difference. I don´t see that difference for Lower Egypt
i would add Arms Race to the list too. gives you an even better cold war feeling^^ and maybe CityMogul

Treasures of Galapagos - fog for sure.
Most of the complicated maps are better with fog (at least it widens the gap in skill).
Poker club - fog.

I agree with all of these except Waterloo. Waterloo is one of those maps where you need to know what you're doing. With the fog setting, a lucky drop is enhanced as is the first turn advantage if the other player/team doesn't see the move. I think strategy comes into effect more on Waterloo with the lights on. Just my opinion, though.
Add Route 66 to the list, LMS. I hate that map with a passion, but I'll admit I hate it much less with fog.

My god man... route 66 should only be played on fog.. otherwise you might as well flip a coin.
I love fog on every map. It adds an extra element of skill to the game, and counters luck just that extra bit. Some maps on some settings with some numbers of players actually can be better sunny...but for the most part... I love the fog.

Well seul, we just have to modify the rule. [Every map with an auto-deploy of at least 2 armies in give territs should be played in fog].

Maybe we need a list of which threads should have fog

: )

Lack would need to buy another database server to save that list.

Personally, I like San Francisco with fog, but only on 1v1's. For flavor, it gets very foggy irl there, so I guess it sets the atmosphere...

The waterloo strategy is much more nuanced in fog, it is what makes playing waterloo worth playing over and over again. Saving your snapshots and deducing what the other team did is a key aspect of the game. As is blinding the other team and maintaining supremacy over the artilleries. Without fog, waterloo is just another stupid map.
Oh, also Iraq.
