I just want to know because i recently got my Premium Membership, and i'm used to having 4 games open, now i have between 8 and 12. Just wanna know what numbers you guys are handling.

i have about 20-30 most have more i think

150 is ideal. Hard to keep it that high though, stays around 90.

more than about 16 and cc starts to feel more like work rather than play for me.

I've gotten up to 60-70. But i know army of Nobugbugbaga, had about 1200+ active games at once time

HA and AoN had a competition to see who vould have the most games going at one time. HA set the bar at 1250, AoN got to 1280. They had to play for 18 hours a day for over a week, it became too much for AoN especially, he went down to 400 pts. at one point because he kept missing turns. There's no way you could keep half this amount of games active for any long period of time.

Personally, I like to keep it around 75, 100 is too much. I joined this HUGE tourney (Every Single Setting: British Isles) and I now have 140 games, it's killing me, and my ranking shows it.

yeah im in that tourni, the only way I could get my games up. Hate the map though.

oh and should i add im a cadet, if that has anything to do with how many games i should be have active at once.

dude, my advice is to play as many NO FOG games as you can stomach.. an asskicking by unique opponents is really the only way to learn.

I agree with the no fog, with fog you just get your ass kicked and you don't know how or why. To learn you need to see what your opponents are doing and how it's different than you, thus how and where you messed up. I see you're playing a lot of different maps and settings, which is really good in the long run, you'll learn to adjust to new things (like teams, fog, and the hard/advanced maps, some of which I still fail at) much better

I usually keep between 15 and 20 games

I usually like about 25 to 30, but at the moment I'm under 10. You'll know when you have too many, it won't be fun to take your turns. Your norm will be about 10 or 20 less then that probably. So if you hit 70 games and aren't enjoying it, then maybe 50 is the right number for you. I suspect most people keep a lot less than 50, like I said I like about 25.

it completely depends on personally preference for number of games. You should continue increasing your game count slowly until it becomes a hassle rather than fun to take your turns, then you know you've joined too many and you know what your limit should be from then on.

What tdans says is true though, if you really care about getting above captain/maybe low major, 25 games should pretty much be your max so you play well on all of them. That is not a concern for you at the moment though

5 active is good. 3 of them build is better.

you would take less than one turn a day that actually involves land-grabbing or eliminating an opponent. After the first 10 rounds or so the winner is decided in the chat box or by some n00b in a build game

Im starting to understand what you guys mean by "too many games", this morning i had over 50 active games, and it felt like homework getting through all of them. But on the other hand im starting to win a few more games and when i lose its not as bad as before.

they are right man... when it feels like work.. stop.. or your rank falls and you really dont learn stuff.

if 50 turns are too many just drop it.

Keep learning the maps, and as your win rate increases you sort of get addicted to more.. gl again.

I prefer to only have about 15-20 games on the go at once, and only one of each map too, otherwise I tend to lose track or confuse my trains of thought.

...although my premium's just expired so I'll soon be back down to four again.

I keep it around 15. You will notice a lot of the higher ranked guys (I can't speak for all of them) will keep their active game count lower than most players because the time I do spend on the site, I spend concentrating on fewer games to try and make sure I win.
