Sweet Jesus - it's been a while

I feel like Charlie looking for the golden ticket wading through all 1977 games waiting for players in the "Join A Game" menu. There appears to be about 700 maps to play on now as well.

I guess More is Better, right?

I used to play regularly on here about 30 years ago and it was fine. Now it's coming across a bit overwhelming for my liking. Can anyone suggest to me some of the better new maps to play?

probably the most 'pure' Risk map is the World 2.1 if you like longer games and nothing too weird, FYI this site has only been around for 4 and a half years, dunno what you were playing 30 years ago.

Hey there, Greatwhite. Thanks for the reply. World 2.1 was my favourite back in the day. Great map that made for epic games, but sometimes those 50 round games became a bit tedious.

30 years ago I was playing put the dookie in the diaper. Ever tried it?

My two favorite new maps are Unification Italy and Japan.

Thanks dude. I joined a Jap-game. We'll see how it goes.

How long does it take for a game to fill up these days?

It depends. My games usually fill up pretty quickly. You can post the game in the Callouts forum if you want to fill it up quicker.

I took a peek at your game history, and it seems you like a lot of the same maps as me... medium-to-large-sized standard gameplay maps.

Well, here's a few I can recommend:

Firstly, my very own Nordic countries... I know, I'm blowing my own horn, but it just happens to fit the category quite well. ;)

Atlantis, currently in beta testing... it's a quirky map, with lots of chokepoints, good fun for escalating.

First nations of north america. Very much W2.1 style, a large & epic map...

Charleston. This one is another neat map. Not too small, not too large, just perfect. This is also great fun for escalating games.

Finally, you just got to try the new Classic map... nothing new gp-wise, but the new graphics are delicious ;)

Just troll a forum for a week whilst your games fill.

I thought only mods were allowed to do that.
