How to get the powers that be to do the right thing

So as a newbie and a free player, I cannot get in on the good games. No I am stuck in a game that has been going on for 52 hours and one player has actually made a move because some knob has missed his deployment move and he was in 2nd position so we all had to wait for another 24 hours to elapse while this knob was doing god knows what except paying attention to the game he signed up for.
I can't for the life of me see the rational for not booting this dickhead out of the game. Surely to goodness it would be much fairer to the other players to remove this waste of skin and have him start a new game when he has the time and inclination. Yeah maybe his cat took ill or his goldfish died but that still shouldn't impact on the rest of the game players in such a long and drawn out way.
Come on mod's, do the right thing and end the tedium.

Players are automatically kicked out of the game after 3 consecutive missed turns. No need to get bent out of shape.

A couple of things.

1. You've watched players be kicked out for missing 3 consecutive turns before in your games Game 7014406, Game 7024640, and Game 7031896 so you're at least on notice of the rule
2. Your turns taken percentage is 98% meaning that you've also missed at least one turn-should you have been booted for that one miss?
3. I am uncertain where your anger at this one particular player is coming from. In terms of length of games you're complaining about 52 hours? There are many games that have been active for years. Game 387875 began over 3 years ago. Now you're unlikely to ever get into a game that goes that long but many many many games last for more than a week and many are months.
4. Relax a bit

That reminds me of a comment of a corporal in a game i was playing that had passed 1-2 months

wow this is the slowest game in the world i have no interest in playing any more i'm sorry for my next couple moves but i just need to off myself this is too much fun

And when i told the same that bart sais his reply was:
those games are retarded and there's no need for that

4. Relax a bit

1. Why is it 3 consecutive turns? In game 7070528 thebus has now missed 3 turns and has held up the game as long as if he had missed 3 consecutive turns. At least consider changing from consecutive to 3 strikes and you're out, doesn't matter if your pitched a ball in between.

2. I have missed 1 turn and that was in an early game and I assure you I was quite surprised that I missed a turn.

3. Frustration with players lack of consideration for others. I was complaining of there only having been 1 move in over 2 days because of this players inattentiveness. After sitting through Game 7014406, Game 7024640, and Game 7031896 I reached the boiling point.

4. I am relaxed now, but still frustrated with the no speed games for freeplayers such as myself, and the frequent delays caused by innattentive players. Would it be so hard to do the right thing? It might entice other freeplayers to become premium, something I will not given the present system.

$25 is not very much money.

I don't know why the magic number is three in a row, but I would suggest you go to the suggestions forum and make a suggestion. But this has been talked about many time and unless you come up with some compelling reasons to change it.......

You are being given something for free, but you want more before you would buy premium. If they gave you free speed games what would be your incentive to buy premium?

When you go to a store and get a drink from the water fountian for free do you then demand a cup with ice?

There are many games that holds for months...(even there are game for years) so missing sometimes a turn in games like that can be very normal....and just 3 non consecutive turns would be very simple to achieve

If the administrators don't consider this as a suggestion to change the 3 strike rule to any 3 instead of 3 in a row, the same amount of time is lost either way, then I suppose they never will.

With the lack of speed games for freeplayers, I think that it is not unreasonable to suggest that the regular games be sped up by initiating the 3 strikes cumulatively instead of in a row.

Why would you want to speed up the regular game, though? The main advantage of this site is that you can play at a leisury pace, actually have the time to think about your moves, and don't have to worry about being booted from the game if you hit an unexpectedly busy day.

As a noob, I'm curious to know why there isn't a withdraw option. I'm in a game where one of the players has been kicked off after 3 no shows, which was slightly irritating to have to wait for. But what if something comes up and you can't pay attention for a few days? I'm sure itmust have been considered, but why can't you withdraw, resign or self destruct?

Enjoying it all though, despite being taken to the cleaners ;-)

Because it would be abused.

I too questioned the lack of a withdrawal option. It sure would make a whole lot more sense in a lot of situations than any abuse it may provoke, although I fail to see how it could really be abused. Perhaps you or one of the other annointed ones could enlighten us, the unworthy noobs. Make it quick though, I have 3 games on the go and as soon as they're done I'm outta here. So within the next couple of weeks or so depending on the no shows and their showing up for every 3rd turn thereby staving off elimination yet still receiving their deferred reinforcements, that's just wrong. Lame just doesn't seem to convey the true essence.

When the game is over, you can add the abuser to your list of foes. Then you will never have to play with them again.

Now that I have completed 5 games, I can play 6-8 player games, and those are the only games that I play. People are MUCH more likely to take their turns in these games. You will find that people who have completed at least a few games are much more agreeable players.

When I finish a game with someone who skips turns (more than one or two) but doesn't get kicked out, I rate them as slow, and give them a low rating in the gameplay and fairpaly categories.

a) Multis (illegal but frequent occurrences) would join games with themselves and withdraw some of themselves for the points to their other selves.
b) If "withdraw" came without points penalty, people would use it to avoid losing points.
c) There'd be almost no incentive for most people to pay for the site; if they got bored waiting for a game, they'd withdraw and join another.

Was that quick enough?

So I finish my LAST game and the first person eliminated from the game is a sitter, didn't show up to play a single turn. At the end of the game this sitter lost the fewest # of points.
Explain to me how this is even remotely fair?? Hardly an impetus to get the fuckhead sitters to get in the game wouldn't you say? I'm done. :x
