You're right.....I misinterpreted what you originally said....but that still makes you a lesser condom owning participant.
Uh...no...I don't have a condom-hat. I've never been anywhere remotely close to having a condom-hat. I actually don't even know what you're referring to here, because it's clearly not what I'm referring to.

But that happens to all of us. Because the dice behave the way they should. That's my point. You've still got a tremendous rank, which clearly shows that your dice quite simply can't be THAT bad.
NO....what it shows is that in most cases my strategy is very good to have such a great rank. So when the dice dont "work out", then my rank goes down!
Ah yes, of course! When you win, it is because your strategy is very good and when you lose, it is because of the dice. Your strategies are so superior that it's just beyond the pale that you could lose for a reason other than the dice and it's beyond the pale that you could possibly win because YOU GOT GOOD DICE. As I said way back early in this thread...get the dice analyzer and use it instead of your general recollection, and you'll amazingly find that the dice you get simply aren't that consistently bad because you WOULD NOT have the rank that you do if they were. It would not be possible.

You're complaining about losing 15+ troops against single defenders and yet...If the dice balanced out, you'd be a private? That doesn't seem to follow logically, never mind that you also seem to be explicitly stating that you're a crappy player. Is that really what you meant to say?
Well, if I was a "crappy player", then I dont think I would have much to complain about.
The dice will be crappy whether you're a good player or not. Strategy doesn't come into play when you hit that "attack" button. But aside from that, you said that if the dice balanced out, you'd be a private...which tells me that you believe your strategic skills are those of a private. That doesn't seem to jive with your earlier statement that your high rank is due to your strategic abilities.
jackal31 wrote:That is why many come on here to complain about dice right?
No, not really. So many come on here to complain about the dice because they have no capability for self-reflection, perspective, objectivity or an understanding of basic statistics.
jackal31 wrote:Lemme give it to you like this: Obviously, if I am swinging at pitches out of the strike zone, and those same pitches are called strikes, then the game is skewed right? So either I get called out on strikes, or I strike out or (hit the ball poorly to) cause an easy out based off the judges (umpires) discretion.
So are you claiming that the non-strike pitches are being called strikes for you but balls for others? Because if you're NOT claiming that, then you admit that there is no difference between the strikes you get and the strikes everyone else gets. And if you ARE claiming that, then I would have to ask you why the game would be set up to work against you...does lack have a reason to hate you enough to set up the dice to work against you? Does he have reason to love me enough to make sure I don't get these awful dice that you do (since I recognize that the dice aren't out to get me)?
jackal31 wrote:Also, the dice advantage of 3v1 in this case should have a much greater advantage than those of anything less. So to have lost 15+ troops to a single army is absolutely absurd. Even if were we to divide it by 3 rounds.
No it really is not. What you are not taking into account is what "random" means and how that is reflected in the thousands of rolls that take place on this site every day.
jackal31 wrote:Are you to argue that if you had a stack of 20v1v1v1v1, that you should not to expect to win because your odds are not good enough?
Should you EXPECT to win? No, not at all. Should you have a pretty solid reason to believe that you will, sure...absolutely. That would very much be in your favor. But again, given the vast number of dice rolls that happen on this site every day, there are going to be anomalies...and those anomalies will happen FREQUENTLY because of those vast numbers of dice rolls.
jackal31 wrote:That is essentially what happened here. You lose 5 troops per turn and end up losing the battle. That is what determines the dice right? So why should I keep attacking even with the dice odds?
That comes down to personal philosophy, really. But I will tell you this...the attacker dice do have an advantage over the defender dice. It is NOT a huge advantage, nor should it be...that's what makes the game fun.
Let me give you a poker analogy that will help to explain things. Over the course of a single poker hand, the outcome is 99% luck...that is a statistical fact. Any hand can win, even the worst hand of 7-2 offsuit. But over the course of a tournament, and never mind over the course of a year of playing, the outcome tightens way down to the level of around 14% luck (depending on the number of participants in the tournament...I'm speaking of a typical casino-run tournament). Over the year it comes to about 3%. That's why at the end of tournaments, there are so many familiar faces. That's why over the course of a year, professional poker players make money. Because they do play the odds, and they play intelligently using those odds even though in a single hand, those odds don't help them much. That's why you have a condom-hat and I have one damn stripe and yet I can still beat you in any given game.
jackal31 wrote:Or for that matter, why should I keep attacking at all? Maybe I should just play defense in all of my games and become conquerer. That makes sense too right?
That makes zero sense, actually. Though about as much as the rest of what you have said, now that I think on it.
