Is there a way to turn off all non-team chat in a game? I'm really not interested in what people have to say, 99% of it is "gl" and "gg" - and where I come from, "gg" is a derisive statement. Not trying to be rude or a jerk, just here to play not to make friends or be social.

Yes but when I see it I'm more likely to egg the other person on because I don't respect what they're doing, which may be worse for the community - unless you all have no issue with trolling.

I think what he means is he wants to read what his teammates say (for playing) without having to see the things other say.
To answer your question, there is no way to do that as far as I know, but you could suggest to your teammates that they communicate with you via your profile wall, or that they send you a Private Message.

Well, you COULD foe your opponents. All of their chat will disappear...

lol, simplest solution ever.
But seriously, I don't reccomend that, it would get annoying to foe new people every time you join a game, and you would eventually run out of peole to play against.

I believe this is the best reply so far.
There is no way to discriminatly screen out non team communications asside from blocking all taxt from a particular player.

are you sure there's not a script? Check out the tools and enhancements forum, I thought I saw something about a script that did this

edit- ya, as long as you have firefox or chrome, viewtopic.php?f=527&t=121860&start=0&hilit=chat+team
follow all the directions in the first post of the thread, and if you have firefox and don't have any greasemonkey scripts already, you have to install that first, chrome you just have to download the chat filter script

I personally don't mind trolling (not that I'm a troll myself or anything) but some people do. However; if someone is egging you on and baiting you then I really don't think they care about trolling. Generally, as long as you keep racism/sexism/bigotry out of the chat, then you can pretty much say anything.

You can call the other person a chicken fucker and they wouldn't be able to do anything about it.

I'd suggest foeing all opponents so you do not accidentally see them being pleasant and cordial to you and your team.

You can unfoe the players again when the game is over, so you can play them again later.
