I'd like to know how many days each of these maps has existed for, but I don't really know, and the map foundry wasn't very helpful. Still somewhat interesting I guess.

A while ago, I discussed # of plays vs duration of map with Lack. I've got the stats somewhere, and sometime, perhaps I'll share them. ;)

You already have # of pages of the maps. Just click on the earliest game in that map search, to see when it started...

Ie. game #1, Classic,
2006-01-02 20:20:04 - Game has been initialized.

I'd just love to see a list of the maps that showed the number of active games (along with the percentage of all active games) and the number of completed games (along with the percentage of all completed games).

I dont think that Days of Existance is the best data... For example, Asia map, in the start, would need to attract attention among other 2 maps (Classic and USA). Arctic today need to attract attention among almost 30 maps.

Aniway, looks like theres not a really accurated way. I will help you. These are the days the maps were launched (day the first game using each map has started):

Classic (already 875 pages and growing!) - Game 1 - 03, Jan, 2006
Asia (59 pages now) - Game 3 - 03, Jan, 2006
USA (117 pages) - Game 6 - 04, Jan, 2006
Africa - Game 17105 - 24, Apr, 2006
Canada (49 pages) - Game 10016 - 23, Mar, 2006
Brazil - Game 10013 - 23, Mar, 2006
Middle East - Game 8012 - 14, Mar, 2003
CCU - Game 37133 - 24, Jun, 2006
Space - Game 29152 - 02, Jun, 2006
USApocalypse (34 pages) - Game 37124 - 24, Jun, 2006
Europe (110 pages) - Game 10018 - 23, Mar, 2006
British Isles (120 pages) - Game 12130 - 03, Apr, 2006
Crossword - Game 12129 - 03, Apr, 2006
Indochina - Game 17107 - 24, Apr, 2006
Germany - Game 17108 - 24, Apr, 2006
Discworld - Game 17110 - 24, Apr, 2006
Ancient Greece - (40 pages) - 21254 - 09, May, 2006
Montreal - Game 20732 - 07, May, 2006
Tamriel - Game 21260 - 09, May, 2006
Circus Maximus - Game 37437 - 25, Jun, 2006
Middle Earth (104 pages) - Game 41832 - 07, Jul, 2006
Ireland (29 pages) - Game 44285 - 14, Jul, 2006
Philippines - Game 62619 - 29, Aug, 2006
North America (53 pages) - Game 68518 - 12, Sep, 2006
Hong Kong (24 pages) - Game 71573 - 18, Sep, 2006
Alexander's Empire (44 pages) - Game 87839 - 18, Oct, 2006
World 2.0 (110 pages) - Game 124626 - 02, Dec, 2006
Australia (36 pages) - Game 173024 - 13, Jan, 2007
Arctic (19 pages) - Game 225183 11, Feb, 2007

I also added the # of the first game using each map. The days I have posted were using GMT -3:00 time, so maybe a little diference in some cases.

Actually it works in the favor of the map, at least at the beginning of its existence. People are bored and are eager to try a new map.

Here is the data (ordered by pages per day):

This proves that new maps get loads of new games to start with...

Good maps keep getting new games after initial hype...

So....Classic, World 2.0 and Middle Earth Pretty much.

Australia is newer, but getting kind of old and its still up very high as well.

And the last 6 doesn't surprise me at all. At least Middle East will be granted a new life very soon.

I hear loads of people raving about how great Brazil is though... admitedly though it could do with a graphical retune...

Well the top, I'm not sure about, but for sure the 2 most hated maps are on the bottom.

It seems like an entirely new variable could be added into the equation that takes into account the size of CC and rate of new games created during the period when each new map debuted, but I imagine that would be quite complicated.

(Discworld should be lower)

Personally, I think that CCU and Montreal should be higher. :?

I'm a bit surprised that Arctic is 13th

Yeah, Lack does not want to expose that information in some friendly format ;)
