Many people treat lower ranks like crap.

Two days ago I was a Major, but the types of games I play (Doodle/Luxembourg freestyle speed assassin) means my score goes up and down lots. I've noticed that in the short periods of time I am a lower rank (below Sergeant) people are much more rude than when I am a higher rank. Just a few minutes ago I was sent a lot of anti-British comments on my wall (which I have removed), accused of being a cheater in the chat and when I inquired as to how it is possible to cheat in a 1v1 was sent the private message: "You have a dice program that manipulated your rolls in your first two rounds. Simple as that."

This type of abuse doesn't seem to happen in the higher ranks. Has anyone else noticed this?

Yes! I find that not only am I rude to lower ranked players I am also rude to higher ranked players.

So yes. Higher ranked players are also subjected to chat abuse. Even if they are not from England. I do not discriminate.

Can't say I've noticed a lot of difference myself but I wanted to agree with your comment re. how is it possible to cheat in singles as this has happened to me a few times, they are all now foed btw. There is a significant number of players on CC who cannot accept their own inadequacies as tacticians and immaturely accuse opponents of cheating by way of dice programs, whatever they are.I know of no possible way to cheat in singles and I've played about 4500 of them.

What were the ranks of the people making the comments?

Someone should conduct a study about low ranks and their place in society, and the fight for equality!

Fail Eddie, off topic and unnecessary in this thread.

Yes, Obsessed, I have noticed. Though it's been a while since I was your rank (due to not playing those fun types of games) ;) , I do remember that with each rank up I got more respect. Even if it's not deserved, it happens. When I had the star, I had enough power to actually scare the win out of some opponents. I remember 1 game which was meant to be a doubles game but accidentally was made into a 4 player singles game. The player who should have kept me in check was a low rank. I was very aggressive every time he hit me. Pretty soon, he stopped bothering me and let me keep whatever bonuses I wanted. It was an easy win and I'm pretty sure the only reason that happened was my rank, because he was intimidated.

On the plus side of being a lower rank, many players will underestimate you. They will become careless, thinking you will make a less than a perfect move. Take advantage of that! And enjoy your speeds and freestyle games. ;)

I have actually seen a couple of cases of this, where a higher ranker thought they were getting into an easy match, and it ended up being quite a battle.

I think sergeant-captain are the ranks that are the most paranoid, when lower ranks attack them they snap at them in the chat. Since I was a major a lot less players tried to tell me I was making stupid moves.

I've seen "bullying" (for lack of a better term) a few times. I don't think it's a common enough problem though.

I tell a dumb ass he/she is a dumb ass no matter what rank they are--if they are not playing like a dumb ass I am nice :)

I've learned that the phrase "playing like a dumb ass" can mean two things:

(1) You're playing like a dumbass; or
(2) You're not playing in a way that will guarantee I win the game.

I'm not sure which of those two definitions your phrase falls under, but I've played with a few folks whose definition is the second.

It goes both ways. Get to the top of the leaderboard and you may get treated like crap. It all depends how you went about it.

I like these definitions. More often than the first entry, I think I've come across the second entry back when I would play larger multiplayer games.

I am not at all surprised you get many negative comments.

well i guess the lower i go the more i join shitty 1vs1 speeders vs anyone; and i do feel like the rank is an intimidating factor.
i feel like treating like shit much more stripers when i have horrible dice than ranks around mine, cause a loss vs stripers can be 50 points, which is 2 or 3 wins to get back.

which usually comes about 2 or 3 rounds before you sweep the map in 8 man escalating.

IMO a dumb ass is someone who does two things:

1) Makes a sub optimal move in a game where there are more than two sides to the game.

2) The action taken in number one hurts my chances to win the game.

Finally, ANYONE (including jefjef, owenshooter, Charioteers, etc., you know -- the INNER CIRCLE)

Is there an actual point to this troll and bait? Inner circle of what?

CoF is recently off a forum ban due to exchanges with you and in re of you.
owenshooter is randomly and periodically given a 6 month ban for, at times, some questionable reasons.
owen and myself don't hold hands and slap each others asses and often are in different trenches. CoF and I often see things differently too.

So whats this inner circle you speak of? Those that don't appreciate your game strategies? Those that don't worship you?

Leave me out of your posts.

A dumb ass to me:

someone who attacks a whole area to get a bonus (multi player games) escalating--thus leaving them or someone else weak for an easy kill later when the cards mean something.

someone that leaves 2's instead of ones because they think that will help them in the long run--instead of just trading for easy cards--again a multi player escalating games

I do not mind bad play in 1v1 games--hell I applaud bad play in a 1v1 game against me--I really do not mind and won't say a negative thing at all

A flat rate game -multi player again--where someone take a monster stack and attacks another monster stack because of some small advantage

going for a kill in a multi player games without numbers for example 40v60--yes this is cc but come on--did u expect to win with those numbers

last example--going for a kill late in an esc game where you cannot re-cash--lol that would not be smart

I do not mind playing low ranks or high ranks in any type of game as long as they play within the guidelines above

Also I do not mind in an esc game when I come back and have only one troop because someone tried a legit kill and the dice failed them--not their fault and I applaud their good effort that only fell short because of bad dice
