u for purple, e for lime, v for olive?

Who would do such a thing?

Has English collapsed so badly that no one knew, Violet is the correct term for purple?

I have not played them yet but the colours look ok.[BigImg][/BigImg]

i've never really managed to diferenciate purple from violet. purple is redder and violet is bluer? (i know that's not the topic but..) and so how would you range mauve?

Violet = isn't.
Purple = ain't.

They are different words for the same thing. Synonyms.

One could use the colour code "v" the other appears to use the colour code, "u"?

Alright, so lets use V for Violet. (By the way, this was already brought up, during the thought process).

What letter do we use for olive?

We obviously can't use P for purple, that's already used for pink.

If you've ever seen Willy Wonka and Chocolate Factory, with Gene Wilder, you'll know that violet is bluer.

"Violet. You're turning violet, Violet."

So if violet s face is violet, would we agree that wonka s jaket is purple? Or is it mauve? Isn t violet s face more indigo than violet?

It's more like her face is blue, since they just put a blue light on her. Ha.

I had 26 colours with codes years ago.

Shades of grey. The next problem is composition. Where our new dark green looks like green until it's on the classic map and looks grey.

r red
g green
b blue
y yellow
p pink
c cyan
o orange
s slate
u umber
e emerald
m maroon
v violet

Just out of curiosity, why does it have to be the first letter of the color? It's more important to find 12 different colors, not that the color codes are perfect. Trust me, we tried maaaaany options. This was the best set of colors, and the color codes are all unique. That's most important.

Team chat. Cyan messes that up sometimes because so many people confuse it with Teal which is actually closer to the new green.

Umber and Amber are different colour shades of orange.

So you're saying that Cyan is actually more like the new Lime than it is light blue?

I think he's saying the new green is close to teal. And some people refer to cyan as teal.

Fair point.

Teal

These images from GoogleImages are VERY different.

Also, people who have been playing know that the sixth player is cyan or teal if there's a reference to that color. Why would we name a new color cyan or teal, which is what people have been using?

No. I was saying cyan is cyan but people call it teal.

The actual colors are "teal" is greener "cyan" is light blue. Lime is a third thing you brought up.

Cyan is Cyan
Teal is Teal

This is teal

I just don't see how these colors are close to each other. Maybe for a colorblind person?

It's you that started saying they were close, so when you figure out why let us know.
chapcrap wrote:I think he's saying the new green is close to teal. And some people refer to cyan as teal.

Yes. Even though when you use the code to make font teal it is lighter than I remembered. So I was incorrect.

Huh? I never said the colors were close...

I'm just trying to understand fully and perhaps think of something that could make it better. Do you have better names for the colors that we already have?
