How come I am second in order in my 1v1 games?

I need to foe players for have like 10-15 starters vs mine 1-2. Often when I check recent games I see that opponents start like 10-15 in a row vs mine 1-2. I don't remember which year. I played 1v1 speed games during summer. I was second in order in 30 games out of 36.

My mantra is drop, dice and order in my disfavor.

You have had an interesting run against you. In your last 23 games your opponent went first 18 times. In your last 36 games your opponent went first 26 times.

you usual fail in logical thought.. your sample size is far too small... 30 some games? not even a reasonable sample size...

Everybody has good and bad streaks. In my opinion nothing alarming. 5-6-7 in a row now and then, alright, but twice these numbers is not. In a vast majority definately is not.

However I understand your frustration for lack of a logical explanation. On the other hand, obviously it's not your issues. I mean what if what I say is true?

I remember I made a thread the summer I was second in order in 30 1v1 games out of 36. Several players did research. I remember one answare. This is what was said:

Gee, what are the odds of this happening to you? It's like impossible to flip a coin and get heads 30 times, tails once. Then, stop recording some arbitrary number of flips, and then notice again the seemingly impossible: heads 15 times, tails once.

Maybe you're not still not getting it. 30/36 flips were heads! IMPOSSIBLE!! <ignore subsequent flips>. Arbitrarily notice: 15/17 heads! IMPOSSIBLE!!! FUTT R TEH ANGRYE!!!


What a dumb thread. This is even worse than the dice threads. At least the probability involved with 3v2 dice is understandably a bit more complex.

One week I foe one player for having like 15-18 starters vs mine 2-3-4. A few days later I foe the next play. Their total were like 25-30 vs mine 7, I guess. In addition when my dice is weaker, I can't win games. No to play. Just drop and wait to be killed.

10.26.2013 Game 13508862 Round 5. 30 terts vs 14.
10.27.2013 Game 13508862 Round 6. 27 terts and 3 full kingdoms vs 15. He even run another 12 terts. This guy even complaint about bad dice.
10.27.2013 Game 13512912 Round 3. 21 terts + a Village vs mine 21. Round 4 knock out all of one of my Kingdom's. Far over the top.
10.27.2013 Game 13514844 Knock out my Kingdom in round 5 which is extreme. I ran across the map to hit back just to meet his 2nd Kingdom's gate blocked by just as big stack as my main stack. Two extremes.
10.28.2013 Game 13519207 Another Private 1 Class. Noth that his dice were extreme but mine extreme bad. Round 15 he drop 18 troops + two villages. My main stack carry 16.

10.28.2013 Game 13519991 Yet another. And second in order. Second in order. Second in order.

10.31.2013 Game 13533139 What's scary. This guy actually even talk about dice in my favor. We've played some games. He just do it in game after game after game after game. But it's me that has the luck. I wonder what this guy are used to when it comes to luck.

05.11.2013 Game 13554481 Order, drop and dice in my disfavor. Opponent's area in first round 4v3 and no way in.
05.11.2013 Game 13554499 Another guy complaints about dice. I was first in order. Got area bonus in round 1 but still could not win.
05.11.2013 Game 13554622 First in order but drop and one side dice in my disfavor killed me in 1st round.
05.11.2013 Game 13555458 Drop, dice, order.
05.11.2013 Game 13555679 Drop and dice. First in order but opponents receive SA area bonus in round 2.

For Classic polymorhip the problem seem to be, well, dice and being dislocated. My opponents receive +2 area bonus from very early on in the games. There are no way to break in or fort troops in.

05.11.2013 Game 13555722 First in order. Good drop but complete dice fail. And. Of course all alright dice for my opponent.

05.11.2013 Game 13555800 First in order and opponent got both 3/4 of Ociania and SA. Very often the drop are reverse for me which mean St.holm Berlin fort and no Madrid Berlin + neutrals block the way in. However very hard to catch up with one side dice in my disfavor.
06.11.2013 Game 13557811 Same old story. I was first in order. Extreme dice in my disfavor. 1 tert left in round 3. 15 Yellow terts and I'm not even able to break Ociania bonus from Mumbai. Round 4 game.

He failed to break out in round 3 but I ran into several stacks and couldn't take either village or any castle. Xeu 10, Xeu village and Xeu 3. Round 8 and he still hadb't broken out of his second Kingdom.
11.07.2013 Game 13564782 Same guy. Me first in order. I don't get a grip what he's doing. I met 4 major stacks. Cen Village, Cen 1, Cen 13 and CR Castle. I managed to take 2 out of 4 major stacks. RoM break out with a 60 stack in round 9. I had singles only in Tri. I estimate top 10 two games in a row. Never seen before. This guy is really fun watch play. Also good in Classic poly. #1 player I've met.

You're not seeming to understanding what probability entails, and it doesn't seem like you've discovered what's wrong with your approach.

I wholeheartedly recommend you Schaum's Probabily and Statistics 2008, chapter 1. Do some of the problems too. It's free somewhere on the Internet.

If you could chart your entire game history, pretty sure your number of starts would even out somewhat to your number of times going second. It happens to us all where we get streaks of extreme bad luck. The bad ones are the most memorable.

That would explain why he is bitching so hard about the dice and other unpredictably determined factors in the game such as drop and turn order. If lt.Futt put half the energy he devotes to whining on the forum into improving his tactics instead he'd be a Brigadier by now.

I think you should all be kinder to dear futt. It is obvious to any one with eyes that he is suffering badly at the conspiracy against him.
