can we have volunteers step up to help these guys? don't wait for me, I'm hoping to make this thread run itself. I only helped to get it started, I wanted to see you guys match yourselves up. So mentors just post I'll take so&so so we know that person is covered. Thanks.

Just to specify what kind of mentoring I would want. I could use some help with Esc and no cards, terminator, and in freestyle games. As well as just a little strategy help. I have 50+ games finished and my rank is between 1300 and 1400 and I’m a premium member. Is there someone that would want to metor me?

Mentoree, I'll just be safe and say lv 1. I know the rules of the game and finished two or so, but I am just a horrible player. Thanks in advance.

Mentoree, I'm know the game rules, but I need to sharpen up my strategy, on all type of games.

I want to get in to team games, so that some would play with me, I'll have to practice.

I am definitely in need of a mentor. I have played a few games now, and have gotten my butt thoroughly handed to me in all of them. I seem to always lose the attack rolls, and I can't seem to figure out how to distribute my troops to keep myself protected.

I have played the board game and am good at that, but for some reason I'm just failing here.

I'm interested in getting mentored. I'd put my level at about a 3 - I know enough to win games, I'm just terrible at putting it into action. I've got premium so joining a game won't be a problem.

OneManArmy, I pm'ed you. Sorry it took so long.

I've got a court date on Thursday, if I don't end up doin time I'd be happy to give someone a hand. If I'm still a free man on Thurs., I'll pm a few who asked for assistance.

As a mentor, I'd say I'm a 2.5 or 3 on a good day. I specialize in no cards/flat rate, chained and play almost exclusively sequential (freestyle requires too much time if you wanna win).

mentoree here

I have completed 19 games and won only 6 of them which has me languishing on 949. I currently have 11 active games, at the moment I'm likely to win five of these and have a chance in another 3. I would greatly appreciate a mentor's advice so I can cut out these losses.

Edit: Have been contacted by jpcloet

Mentoree (thats not a word...)
I'd say between 2 and 3, the site doesn't seem to be hard to navigate, I'm pretty good at the board game (although its hard to win when everyone always gangs up on you, the downside of playing with friends).

ok...

few failed attempts now

do you have yahoo/msn messenger?

do you have a premium account?

do you speak reasonable english?

do you want to learn how to play at the top?

throw me a pm and we shall begin!

I'd like to be a mentoree, because I need some specific help. Particularly with Chained/Adjacent forts, as well as some help with Escalating cards.

Anybody out there care to help?

Let me just offer some mentoring right now...don't play chained or adjacent fortification games. [-X There will be a test on this later.

(I would say this advice alone would elevate me to a 2).

Okay, so my first mentoree pretty much washed out. So, if anyone would like a mentor to teach them about the certain subjects (escalating, any fortification scheme, team games, stalemates, pretty much anything but freestyle), please fulfill all of the following:

premium
an interest in actually getting better
a deep-seated hatred of missing turns
a willingness to let a complete stranger be horrifically blunt about your strategy

PM me if you qualify.

Sorry to be such a prick about it, but I have no interest in wasting anyone's time, especially my own.

EDIT: closed for the moment as I attempt to impart wisdom on exile, IGS, and visaoni

Mentoree 3: Joined! experimented with various games! lost some through inattention! Lost some through indifferent partners who bugged out early! At the end of the day 13games crashed in flames 13 times. No excuses I am failing! Help! I need a mentor!
