Serial Lurker

I don't make threads. I read threads. I randomly post in threads when bored or intrigued. But I do not make threads. So, wtf?

As someone that has far too much time on their hands, I feel confident in saying that GD has lost its way. E-peening is at an all time low. Misplaced (wrong forum) cheating accusations are at an all time high. General Congratulations wasn't nearly as congratulatory as usual. GD just hasn't been, well, very good since this map fiasco.

So, loyal CC'ers, so called "great community," I put the onus on you. Stop complaining about that which you cannot change. Head to the Foundry for your map issues. Go to C&A for all your accusations. Give Flame Wars a try for when you just need everyone to know that someone sucks.

Make GD as enjoyable as before for me to read again. Back to lurking, hopefully.

PepperJack

PS- Please don't post something useless and predictable like, "Good thing you don't post often."

Heh. Well I'm glad that you don't post more often!

Oh hang on... damn.

Also, I agree. Yeah.

There are so many people that need to read this bit right here. It could help SO many lost and confused members who don't know which direction is up and which is down. Most helpful post of the night =D> ;)

Yeah, I really miss the E-peen measuring threads, the "nobody else cares so I'll make one for me" self-congratulation threads, and the utterly pointless "gratz 4 points" threads too.

Let's have lots more of them, they're always scintillating and they make this forum a fascinating read.

Quick about face on this for you. Would you rather have the current situation (an out and out bitchfest over a nearly impossible situation with Max v. Scott threads thrown in for good measure) OR the old GD where Owen ran circles around Paradice, the assorted scoreboard leaders busted out the electron microscope to see who was better, and reportedly over-zealous locking.

I'll take the latter. I've read all the "I miss real Classic," garbage I can stomach. Between this Classic situ and the missing forums, the real GD is buried. Bring it back. I could maybe even contribute.

Ha! That sig is grandfathered in. I wasn't burned out on the grieving process when you produced that. I even thought about stealing it.

Many people stole it from me....I made it about 5 minutes after I found out what happened. Ugh I lived in that 'Crazy maps & dice' thread in Q&A for about 80 pages. :? That was a nicely spent 2 days, I got about 100 posts in there. I don't ever remember what I said. #-o

And that is exactly why you posted this topic. The forums. Are. Dyingggg.

Wait, they stole something which wasn't 'yours' in the first place? Would you like some tea and biscuits, or perhaps a medal for your efforts? Then again, sporting a signature with the exact same imagery that got CC in trouble might not be the smartest thing to do anyway.

Hey...I asked some mods if I was going to get sued. They said no. Until I am asked to make is disappear it's going to stay. And yes, they stole it from me. But I told them they could. Because as you said, the image wasn't mine, I just made it pretty and stuff.

I loved that one. I think I've watched it about 15 times or more. n00blet's was pretty epic though, but I can't sing to n00blet's while folding laundry. 8-)

A: Neither. Both were/are shit.

The constant "Tell me everything about your lawsuit guys! I paid some bucks once and so I fucking deserve to be kept in the motherfucking loop! Also I have a PHd in copyright law so I magically know all the answers to your problems without even being told what they are yet." threads were old before they even began.

However, the "I have had lots of points for X days, so I crown myself King of Risk!", "No Wai! I play more maps than you, so I'm King of Risk!", "Well done Bob! You got points, you're going to be King of Risk one day!", "My dice weren't good, so I wasn't able to become the King of Risk" carnival that existed before was also shit.

In other words, I agree with you in wanting this place to become better; because it's currently fairly dull. But I'm not sure I want the bad old days to come flooding back again. Some kind of middle ground would be nice I guess...

But then, since when was GD a forum in which the opinions of people with less than nine-thousand Risk Points mattered?

Somewhere between then and now, something happened. Call me hypocrite if you must, but you don't believe in the Tooth Fairy anymore either. I just shrugged.
