Your given ratings has been brought to our attention and as you say, "1 star is now my standard scorehanding". You do not use the ratings system to get back at it or use it for your own personal enjoyment. Do not give out random ratings or hand out ratings which lacks or no basis at all.

This improper use of the ratings system is strictly prohibited and let this serve as a warning. We do not want to be forced to take away this privilege from you.

Please direct me to where the feedback rules publicly reside and i will comply. I can currently find no such rules on this site and don't see why i can't interpret the feedback system as i see fit.

Common sense dictates on how to properly use the ratings. Please re-read our instructions page about the ratings. This is not something that you can freely give without any logical thinking or to be abusive for.

Whenever leaving ratings, use caution and good judgement. You are responsible for the ratings that you leave and they become a permanent part of the other member's record, so be sure to leave only fair and factual ratings that relate to the member's behaviour in the game.

You, on the other hand, is consistently giving ratings just to get back on certain players or just for your own amusement. The ratings is there for a purpose. Continue with this path and it will be taken away from you. If someone gave you a bad rating in the past, foe him and move on. You are not the only member who got something like that. Dragging it by giving everyone the same thing just to prove your point will only backfire on you. So play nicely and abide by the rules.

Frankly, this smacks of fascism.

Many people leave 5s (or 1s) for no good reason (in my opinion), is this then abuse? Yet you do not seek to censor others.

There is nothing fictional about leaving 1 star ratings, therefore they ARE factual.

In my opinion my ratings ARE fair. As they are MY ratings no one can contradict this. My ratings FAIRLY represent my opinion.

I never leave feedback 'to get back' at someone. If anything my ratings are extremely consistent.

If conquer club chooses to censor me then they are hypocrites and fascists.

Hear hear!

While I don't personally hand out all-1's myself (without good cause). I wholeheartedly support your move away from this ridiculous idea that anything other than straight-5s is an indication that the rated player is a devil-worshipping paedophile.

I'm sick of hearing people complain that "Player X rated me a four for attitude! My world is over!", or "I got rated 1 for gameplay! What do I do?". If that's what they think you deserve, that's what you deserve; your average score is irrelevant, and your opinion of how you did is irrelevant. The ratings system is for comments both negative and positive, without that it'd be useless.

You think your rating is unjustified? PM the rater and talk about it with them.
They won't change it? Forget about it, shut up, grow up, move on. Go play more games and get high ratings from other players, that'll soon balance out your isolated 1-score.

There's a really vulgar attitude that has developed since nu-ratings were implemented. So many players simply expect to be ranked all-fives just for showing up to a game and cry when they get anything different. It's ridiculous that everybody here is ranked over 4 and that 5-star seems to be regarded as 'average'. That mindset is ludicrous and invalidates the whole purpose of a rating system.

Also, if we're having an unregulated feedback system, then can mods please stop wasting their time catering to a vocal minority who insist on howling whenever they feel unfairly rated? The whole reason we made the switch was to free up mod-time so you could focus on mor important aspects of this site. If you're going to continue running around and catering for people who simply can't cope with a single mildly critical rating, then let's just accept this new system has failed in its purpose and go back to a system where everybody got to explain their ratings in their own words.

There. Rant over... but this "anything lower than 5 stars is what you give to Hitler" mentality needs to be addressed.

Here is my synopsis so far:

BANDWAGON THE FIRST: Foe Limey Lyons for reasons unstated or clarified, however implied to be as a prophylactic measure against receiving 1s in ratings from the aforementioned possible "foe".

BANDWAGON THE SECOND: Be all contrarian to the other bandwagon, yet appear exponentially less cool than all people who jumped on this bandwagon prior to me, and at least like, 140% less cool than Vace Cooper, who built the bandwagon, and thus rises above the station of mere bandwagon jumper and is instead designated as TRAILBLAZER. This is the truly desired position in this whole debacle.

However of course, there is a third bandwagon no one has considered.

Well naturally I would follow the example the esteemed leader of the BpBs has set, but then he did get us vengeance-proof umbrella plan. Along with health, dental, and vision.

So I am jumping on the 1 star rating band wagon. I want it now! And then I can respond with something suitable nasty and cutting....as I do generally when I get those levels...after all, I am a 5 star man and no mistake.

Limey recently rated me all 1s but was kind enough to warn all players in the game that he would be doing so. He stated that it was in protest of the rating system. While I don't agree with the rating itself, I do appreciate that the "1s across the board" philosophy is the only real protest available to him as not rating at all comes across more apathetic than revolutionary.

I say 1 away, Limey. Theres more than enough blind 5ers to make it irrelevant anyways.

Hehe I read this thread with a lot of appetite and loved it.
A lot of clever and witty posts:).
Although I don't agree with limey for just narrow his protest or point of view to just 1 star for evryone it's his right to do so.
And I can follow his ideas and reasoning, and when you think logical you can't do a thing about it, it's perfectly legal.

However I think the post about the flawed rating system is a good point, because let's face facts noone can be a 5 star player and yet evryone has at least 4 except some exceptions. We are all just good guys or most of us are and we just rate without much thinking and just drop three fives all the time, I'm guilty of that too.
I'm interested in how this discusion will progress
