Do you like the new reinforcement system?

CC recently changed the drop-down menus for reinforcement and how the drop-down menus work.

This is a poll to get an indication of people's thoughts on the change.

Posts describing your reasons are very welcome! Thanks!

You forgot the option for "I don't care at all, as I have proper reading comprehension abilities, and can adapt to slight changes in my life"

You also forgot the "i don't care, and people who spam my inbox with shit piss me off".

I like it. It's just needed to get used to it but in my opinion is better ;)

If it was a compulsory vote, I'd put it in. But since it's not, people who don't care at all won't look at this poll in the first place.

I like the drop-down menu/the automatic highest value but hate the button having been moved.

But, how will you know how many people looked, and decided not to vote? I guess you could subtract the number of votes from the number of active users. I bet I can guess what a HUGE majority will "answer".

Doesn't matter. Those people don't mind either way.

I support the drop-down max defaulting system. Much easier, quicker, useful and logical.

Rocket.

I fucking love it. I want to take it home and have awesome, sweaty sex with it. I want to raise a family with it. I can see our little kids, two girls one boy, playing in our garden already.

It works just fine the new way. All you need is a few games to get used to it.

It keeps timing out and not letting me end turns.

It's fine... I think more people reinforce all their armies rather than none, so it makes perfect sense to default to maximum. Personally I think it would be more logical to have the number in the middle of the 'Fort From' and 'Fort To' dropdowns, but as far as coping with the change goes: adaptability is a sign of a survivor ;-)

Over a year and 1300 games I played...I'm sure many others have that beat by eons. I never once thought...man, that fortification thing needs to be changed. It worked. I'm still in a ton of games, and the biggest problem with the change for me is the defaulting to maximum. Most of the time, I'm NOT moving all of my armies into another area, so it's just more work when choosing the country, it changes the number again. Most probably don't play cc on their cell phone, but when I travel I don't always have options, and it's painful to have to triple check the amount for fortifications on mobile browsers. Anyway, at least the poll gives the community the opportunity to voice an opinion.

Most of the time you are not moving all of your armies. But are you moving only 1 army most of the time? If not then the change doesn't really matter because you still have to change the amount to reinforce.

I definitely reinforce all of my armies more often than only 1 army, and therefore I support this change.

The default value being maximum makes sense. Having said that, as a general rule, I hate change, nothing should ever change. : )

while it wasn't the worst change, I don't think it was the most urgent.

I would prefer to see the admins fixing the more serious issues or adding new features rather than a small cosmetic change.

Having said all that I do like the fact that it now defaults to max rather than 1.

I've already screwed it up a couple of times, but I suspect that in a few days time I (and everybody else) will be used to it. I understand the change and think it is a good one.

i was under the impression from another thread, that it was going to change...

Subject: Fortification dropdowns (merged) [Done]

lackattack wrote:The order of boxes has to change, because the From selection determines the values in the To and Quantity menus.

lancehoch wrote:Then should it be {From} {#} {To}? So the sentence structure would be "From Florida, fortify 10 troops to Georgia" (for the USA map).

I can do that if people really find it better.

Alternatively, we can get rid of sentences and just have labelled menus e.g.

From: X To: X Quantity: X

But maybe the sentences are helpful for new players trying to figure out what is going on.

i completely agree with lance on this issue...-0

Like all changes, in time, you won't remember the old way.

It's a perfectly logical change, and hell, it's lacks site. You'll get used to it.

Actually, I feel that "Fortify x armies from Florida to Cuba" is a prettier sentence than either "from Florida, fortify x armies to Cuba" or "From Florida to Cuba, fortify x armies," and I'm not sure it would make gameplay any harder But they all make sense. This isn't really a sea change, guys. And maybe the simple fixes are easier to implement than the serious ones. I don't think Lack and crew spent months furiously banging away at a reinforcement redesign.

But I suggested the max army default idea, so I like it. Lackattack, you may be the first person ever to do something I recommend.

it wasn't broke, why mess with it??
After 2 years of playing ,I have gotten used to forting one way..and now you completely reverse it.. weird and not needed.
