Poll For New Map Rank Scoreboards

If you have seen the Map Rank scoreboards

Then you'll see there are only 3 at the moment: Overall, Sequential, and Freestyle scoreboards.

I would like to ask people which scoreboards they would like to see next.

I only want to open up scoreboards that people are both interested in seeing and also interested in keeping updated.
(To update scoreboards you only need to run Map Rank with the scoreboard settings and the list will auto update.)

Any more suggestions than the poll provides, please post.

Thanks!

It is interesting to see all of them to be honest...they more show game choice than anything else, but its still interesting to see where players points come from and where they go. As that progresses and gains data, there will be some interesting names that go to tops of scoreboards, and bottoms of scoreboards... I used the three you have now for most of this data here:
and am adding to it but it would be nice to have them all on one scoreboard, especially the lost point...lol

All of them eventually would definitely be great. For the next thing, I'd like to see Teams/Singles though. This is simply because I've played far more team games than singles, so I'd like to see how I rank there.

Thumbs up for the sequential/freestyle split though!

I think, these score-boards are even less meaningful than the official one.

I could join 100 Ass Doodle Freestyle now, drop to Sergeant or Corporal in a matter of days, then start my preferred Sequential games again and make it back to Colonel / Brig, repeat the whole procedure a few times and gain 1000s of points for the Sequential score boards that way. But what does that really say about me in comparison to people, who only play Sequential and maintain Colonel / Brig / General all the time ?

If this was supposed to make sense, there would need to be a divided score system to start with: Everybody starting off with 1000 for each different game type. And wins / losses in one game type only reflecting on the score for that particular type. Then maybe calculate an overall score by adding all the single ones, or taking the average, or whatever.

But this way it is just nonsense.

Ahunda makes a great point. It would be very easy to raise your points on one setting by loosing them on another setting.

Yes, this is true. However, if you look at the scoreboards for what they are, an analysis of where someone gained their points, then it is actually a very good tool. I know that I do not like freestyle games, looking at this "scoreboard", I see that I really should avoid them because I have lost 122 points, but i have gained 628 points in sequential games.

Thanks, lance, glad to know this has not been a total waste of time.

Scoreboards will be opened as soon as I get a clear idea from the poll. At the moment not enough people have voted to really tell me which scoreboards are going to take up useful data storage. (It would take me less than a minute to add scoreboards so get voting...)

I voted Game types - as this includes singles teams as a subset in my eyes.

Would also like to see spoils, player counts (Part of game type too?) & Fog.

C.

Yes I agree, I'll put Singles and Teams in with the other Game Types.

Player counts is on the cards but it looks like game types inc. Teams/Singles looks like the fave.

I would do teams/singles first and then see if people really want more of a breakdown. My gut says that triples/quads can be left together, since they are very similar. Doubles might need to be split off since you can have 2, 3, or 4 teams.

I hope, you didn“t take my comment the wrong way. This is certainly a nice little toy to play around with.

But I saw the obligatory Top 10 thread popping up in the GD forum and heard suggestions about this being incorporated into the site as official score-board, maybe even replacing the old one.

I also remember several discussions about finding the best players for certain game types & settings. And as pointed out in my last post, this is just not the way to do it.

But then I guess, you never intended that anyway. ;)

Sorry just need to make sure people know that they now need Map Rank version 1.2.2 to update the scoreboards.

1.2.0 and 1.2.1 won't update any more.
