After more than a year in this server, you cannot but conclude that wins in this game are rarely based on strategy, merit or skill.
it is mostly, and more frequently based on pure bad luck of the opponent right before you!

more than 85% of the games being won in standard escalating games were based on this scenario, and no matter how much you complain about the CC dice nothing is being done.
if you check my last 20 games, you will see how many times someone apologized for unreal bad rolls that were out of proportion, out of logic and out of anything you would expect!
is this how risk is supposed to be played? wait for the misfortune of someone??

true there are some good moves that you applaud, some nice tactics that you learn from but those never resulted in a complete win!

it happened that I play other servers based on random dice and I have to admit, randomness in CC is far far bitter than any other server I played in:

- 7+ streak rolls of 6 is unreal and not applicable in real life unless player is cheating or is santa!
- an army of 25 vanishing in front of an army of 5 should happen maybe once or twice in a million game, it is happening almost on a daily basis in CC!
- etc...

is there something that can be done to make the rolls less illogical?
is there a solution or the server is doomed to this bitterness?

I disagree with this as strategy --not luck-- is a huge factor in this game. Your dice fate is something that always has to be considered when plotting the next move. To succeed, the aqusition of armies and their careful deployment combined with some patient tactics is required. It isn't "just luck" that determines the outcome of games.

How to win is a constant that never changes, you have to eliminate your opposition.

yes sir, you are correct to think that when good opponents play other good opponents that are evenly matched the game will usually be decided by luck... that is normal, not a problem with the dice..

I reach General position and I know how to win games as well... but sadly most of these games were won based on the misfortune of others while other games that I played marvelously ended up screwed but unimaginable dice!

I wish there was a program that calculates the number of games won on pure skill vs number of games won after a miss-kill of a previous turn! you might be amazed by the outcome!

The skill is being everywhere at once to take advantage of someone's bad luck and blocking to increase someone's chances of bad luck. But yes in the high level games luck has a lot to do with the result and that's why the best escalating players don't make it much higher than a 3500 score.

But of course... afterall, what self respecting dice wouldn't respond to my touch...

the dice is bias both ways, sometimes you lose big but other you win big. A good strategy will incorporate the capabilities of the dice. i do agree, however, that luck plays a huge part in the outcome of a game, but the luck is not only with dice but also with the starting lay and also what kind of cards you get (predominantly in flat rate games). CC's dice may not bu exactly like real dice, but it is darn close. i happy with them.

Agree with everything you say and still bagdad-bob is alleging that the rolls are random.

I have read a lot about the dice, does anyone ever post how much the dice helped them You should start thanking them when there good to get them to be nicer.

I get so sick of these crybabies...this game is based on a mix of strategy and dice...stop expecting the dice to behave according to some formula.

Sound strategies still produce winners more often than not, but just like in a real battle sometimes the unexpected happens...how you deal with it can still determine who wins the war.

If you're being routed (a turn or two of bad dice), ease off the throttle a bit and often times the tide can turn in a single game.

I don't get these guys who think anytime they lose to a player of a lesser rank, it's solely because they were let down by the dice...give me a break!

Fairly simple answer here all you do is eliminate the other people in the game and you win. Technically this should be called something to do with dice as that's what it's talking about. Yes dice can be a pain in the butt, but such is life. Stick out the tough times of dice and then eventually you'll end up winning.
