Protecting points spoils games.

I think its the system of Points and ranks needs a good looking at...
The general idea that if you win against a good experienced player you earn more points, against a lower ranked player less points, is a good idea in an ideal world, the system should offer some degree of protection for new members learning the game.

Unfortunatly in reality it back fires badly in games of more than 2 players.
Iv seen it often that a lower ranked player gets into a strong position and is looking like winning the game the player that is going to be cleared throws the game to the higher ranked player in an effort to reduce his point loss, spoiling the game.
How many times have you seen in game chat, side with me if x/y/z wins we lose more points...

Im not saying this happens in every game, of course it doesnt, but it happens in far too many.

Perhaps a straight points for win/loss regardless of rank would be better for the lower ranks?

The opposite is true in Terminator games where the high ranks are a target from the start because they offer the biggest reward. Similarly, in the start of most multiplayer games people will attack the highest ranks more often because they deem them to be the biggest threat later in the game. This may be the cause of some lower ranks getting into a strong position and consequently being attacked. It all balances out in the end I think.

I bolded the parts that are uneducated grasps at the reality of the situation.

This thread doesn't make any sense. Then again, I still call them cards.

I agree with what you say there sully800 i have targeted higher rank players before because i respect their ability.
I would like to see some more constructive comments from lower ranked players, but appreciate the odd constructive reply in this thread.
