Has any1 ever gotten an entire continent at the start of the game?

yes... very often actually... the chances are qyute high and there are a LOT of games played on the classic maps

depends on the number of players. in 2 and 3, it's not uncommon. larger than that, and it gets pretty rare.

I normally on play 1 vs. 1 although now I have started to play a little bit more larger games but most of the time I never start out with a full continent.

i have started with australia, or so. america on the drop, in my exp. it occurs about once every 300 games or so

Because it is random. The odds of that happening are very small, so it only occurs once every X thousand games or so (I don't know how many players you are talking about, but for more players the number goes up a lot). The thing is, there are so many games played on that map, you are going to see it happen more often than you would expect.

Odds of starting with a continent in a 2 player:

Australia or South America: 0.772%
Africa: 0.0394%
Europe: 0.004%
North America: 0.0006%
Asia: 0.00000005%

So to start with Asia, it would be less than a 1 in 2 billion chance.
