Disappointed returning player

I had an account a couple of years ago - premium membership. It was so fun to log in when I had some free time and play a quick (or, not so quick) game. So, I decided to come back. I had to make a new account - my old email was innactive and I had no password. I paid my money and tried to play a speed game.

No one is here anymore. There are very few speed games available, and never enough people to start playing in a moderate amount of time. I guess people quit paying to play here.

I wish more people had access to the speed games feature. I feel a little ripped off...

Lol, I think you came back at the wrong time of the day.

Try around 7 pm GMT and you will suddenly see the premiums come online :P

you're gonna feel even more ripped off when you lose your premium for being an admitted multi

If you're only actively using one log in at a time, is it really a multi-sin? What is the sound of one multi playing?

there is a time of day when you only see one or two speedgames up, but the rest of the time there are always a bunch of them.

I suspect that as a new recruit jr can't see all the maps which will limit some of the speed games he sees as well

I thought the blocked maps were lifted for premium new recruits? I could be mistaken, but either way in a few games he won't be a new recruit and that problem would be resolved.

Hmmmm

Normally I would try to be supportive but your post annoys me; what sweeping generalizations you make with your 1 week (and 6 games) of returned experience. The post certainly could have been drafted more PC.

Our group of 100+ strong is going great and the place seems fully populated....it would be nice if the whiners would decide to leave though.....lol.

Not to worry jrewing, there's still plenty of great matchups to be had.

1v1s and 3 player games usually fill fairly well. I have trouble filling 4 player althougn, saying that, doubles are usually ok. Try the callouts tab in Live Chat as well.

Rocket.

He WAS owens81. A username that had nothing against its record, other than a lost password apparently. For future reference jrewing, you are not allowed to simply create a new username and buy it premium to get out of having multiple accounts. But I also understand that is not what you are doing which is why I have not busted your new account. If you have problems remembering a password in the future, please fill out and Eticket, instead of creating a new account (because that breaks Rule #1). Thanks :)

yet another example of discontinuity between decisions made by mods...

the guy in this thread...

viewtopic.php?f=239&t=78057&p=1854789&hilit=+forgot+password+multi#p1854789

he did the exact same thing yet he was busted for being a multi.

I found other examples as well, in fact one mod went as far as saying that "a forgotten p/w is no excuse for creating multiple accounts"

here is one more example for you...

If Owens81 as allowed to do it maybe the 2 dudes in the above links that I provided should get a refund for having their premiums stripped for doing the same goddamn thing.

If he's a Terrell Owens fan, he should be busted just on principle. <laughing>

I think it might be a good idea to reset the pass of the old accounts for these users, transfer the premiums over and delete these new accounts. I think banning them and taking away their premium is overkill. There also might be reasons, like they don't have the same email they registered with, or don't know what it is, and it was just easier to make a new account.

I am here and I understand the rules. Most players who read the forum can see that that #1 rule of CC is very important, not only to CC but to the players. However someone who doesn't check the forums would not realize how important it is, and therefor might not think about it or might think it doesn't apply to the current situation (lost password, possible dead account). So when faced with a decision of going through loads of trouble emailing tickets and waiting for responses and finding lost emails, or just creating a new account and playing a speed game immediately... they would probably choose the 2nd option.

You can see when an account was logged onto last, and find out if the guy is legit lost password or trying to multi. If he logs onto the old account since the new one was created then he tried to multi, if he doesn't, then perhaps he really did lose his password and carelessly created a new account.

Sorry to take this off-topic even more. Considering the topic is complaining about lack of players in speed games, not how the mods should respond to lost password multi's.

I don't know about speed games, not permium, sorry dude.

anyone that is too stupid to use the 'forgotten password' button, should be banned on principle....

in the past 'i forgot my password' was not a suitable excuse........

Forget the password goes to your email, which he said was not in use anymore. Sooo that is useless for him.

Those cases appear to have some differences in that the previous busts never tried to get a new password. I'm sure the hunters and admins have their own policies for these situations and treat everybody on a case-by-case basis. Plus, this account had already bought premium, so maybe that helped him out.

To be honest, it would be foolish for them to bust him. I just has no practical purpose. Maybe admin should add a line into the rules about not having 2 accounts at the same time, with active games. This way you could not join a game with a multi because both would have active games. On the other hand if, like jrewing, you lost your password 2 years ago, you could just start another account. Maybe you could just post it somewhere and they could destroy the old account so you couldn't go back and use it after getting a now one.

Anyway, banning this guy when his intention was clearly not to cheat just makes no sense. Just put yourself in his shoes, how would you feel. He is a paying member here.

In those cases, the users actually had multiple (4-5 accounts) not just the two that the thread was started about.

It's true that you are not allowed to start multiple accounts to get out of a previous bust, or to get around a forgotten password. In this case the previous account was blocked with jrewing, and then busted. This means that jrewing has already been recorded as having multiple accounts, and the old one was busted (the one he is able to use was allowed to stay). Now if jrewing creates another multiple account, he has already used up his one free strike. Any and all accounts will be stripped of premium and deactivated as we do with second time offenders.
