Can someone explain the bonus system to me on this map? I find the legend doesn't explain it clearly.

My recent turn was:
2009-08-01 18:53:16 - Maroon Beret received -4 troops for holding irradiated territory
2009-08-01 18:53:16 - Maroon Beret received 6 troops for holding a radiation nexus

Acoording to the legend (which doesn't even mention the word nexus) radiation effects are (in order) minus 1, minus 1, then 0, then plus 2. I cannot fathom how I got minus 4. Is this reflected anywhere in the above?
Even more boggling is a radiation nexus - not on the legend, but I am assuming it means a territory with the nuke hazard symbol on it. Is this a secret feature?

It's referring to the yellow radiation symbols.

Looking at the maps code using the BOB plugin's Text Map, you can see that irradiated territories and radiated nexuses are, in reality, the same thing. Don't worry too much about what the log says, as you received the proper number of troops.

Looks at the key with regards to holding territories with the rad symbols on them. Seeing as you hold four, you're supposed to receive the +2 that you ended up receiving (the (-4)+(6)).

The legend is both correct, adequate and clear IMO. You held 4 territs and hence you got 2 additional armies just as the legend says.

You didn't get -4. You got (-4)+(+6)=+2 just as the legend said you should get. The underlying math is that you get -1 bonus for every nexus you hold and then a +1 bonus for every pair of nexuses you hold. The legend doesn't mention the exact formula or the word nexus because it doesn't want the map to seem overly complicated, and it doesn't need to mention it as the overall effect/bonus is clearly shown on the map.

Thanks for the explanation. I was not trying to say something went wrong with the game, just that I couldn't grasp the concept.
